Good location, nice bar and restaurant downstairs.... that's about all I can say that is good. Service is very poor. 2 bedroom apartment only service every 4 days, if you are lucky, we had to wait 6! When it was serviced they changed the linen and 'cleaned' in less than 15 minutes. We ran out of toilet paper in the 6 days and the front desk didn't have any. They rustled some up and brought it to our room, but really? Guy on desk was more interested in his phone than attending to guests. To compound the room service issue the vacuum didn't work so we couldn't clean carpets ourselves. Had to ask for a hair dryer as they don't leave them in the apartment. Two lights needed bulbs replacing, one desk lamp had a missing switch with exposed terminals, and the lounge lamp, reported not working the first day of a 11 day stay, was never fixed. When the room was serviced it was always at the very end of the working day when you are trying to rest before dinner after a hot day of site seeing. The coffee was never replenished and when is one face washer in a master bathroom acceptable. The balcony was not cleaned in the 11 day stay and was cleaner when we left (due to us) than when we arrived. The bins in the parking garage were stinking to high heaven and had been overflowing for 2 days when we checked out. Signs in the elevator still referred to Christmas weather conditions in late April. Someone stole? the pool filter so the pool couldn't be used for several days. There are no pots, pans or trays that are suitable for use in the oven and the cutlery only had 2 dessert spoons. No cutting boards for food preparation. The master bed was two singles incapable of being properly secured together. The second bedroom contained the queen size bed, so the teenager got the comfortable bed and I spent 11 days sleeping on a crack that grew wider through the night. The apartment across the hall had room service dishes on the floor outsider their door for 2 days, cleaners were on the floor the first day but never removed them.
Could be a great hotel if managed properly with adequate staff trained well. I mentioned many of these issues directly to the building manager on day 6 but saw little improvement and much deterioration of building cleanliness after...
Read moreI was bitten by bed bugs at the H hotel four weeks ago and it has now scarred my right hip. I emailed the H hotel on the 13th of May with no response. I then called them on the 20th of May and the receptionist asked me to forward to original email again, so I did. Now a few weeks later and I still have no response, I called the hotel this morning. The receptionist was rude and told me there was nothing she could do because "she was only a receptionist". She told me to call again (for the 3rd time in 3 weeks) later this after noon in the hope of catching the manager.
I'm extremely upset not at what happened during my stay, but at the fact no one has contacted me (after I have attempted 4 times) and no one has apologised.
We were staying here to assist us while vacating our apartment and moving inter state, so we needed a hotel that was self sufficient (washing machine ect). That is why we stayed at the H hotel and none of the facilities worked, it just made our move 10 times harder than it should have been. The dryer did not work so we attempted to hang our wet laundry however the clothes line was so badly broken the clothes were hanging on the dirty floor.
There was food left in the fridge in our room from the previous occupants and long, black hair everywhere on our bathroom floor. They obviously didn't mop because there was also blood stains on the white tiles near the toilet.
There was also a large hole in the wall next to our bed which was the size of a tennis ball, not things I expect from a '4 star' hotel.
I'm very upset that I have been bitten by something at the H hotel which was an irritating rash for 2 weeks and has now scarred. All I want is a response from the H hotel but they deal with complaints by burying their heads in the...
Read moreFacilities very good but let down by woeful administration and it seems management either contribute or aren't interested in doing anything about it. Big tip, don't book here as they don't deserve the business, despite having good facilities. Arrived at 11.30pm to be told don't have booking and looked at as if to say are you stupid, until I produced printed email confirmation with name of staff member who had made booking. Magically my booking appeared and was told Chris, who is mentioned in many bad reviews, had cancelled my booking. No room for us, but was I sure my name wasn't one of the three bookings for the night who hadn't shown. They did the same to my sister's booking. We had booked early in the year as we were all there for wedding. Had to camp the night in another sister's room. Clearly the guests in the high vis vests get priority and people's bookings get bumped. The affiliated hotel The Mitchell bumped my nephew who was staying before his wedding due to "mould" and had to scramble very last minute to find new rooms. Welcome to Darwin where nobody cares about good service. Everyone we spoke to and overheard checking in had problems with one guest being charged extra $2000 on their card. Here's a tip, strange concept but consider your guests who pay your way and don't book rooms when they were not available. WILL NOT BE...
