An amazing experience for any young bub. Sensory walls, jungle gym, dreamtime stories with projections, sound tables, interactive drawing screens etc etc you could spend hours there. Anything you could think of to spark an interest in your little one in either science, history or creative arts in an environment that doesn't encourage gendering of activities and is very well planned out. Plenty of pram parking, change facilities and helpful staff. The only two recommendations I would make to avoid a possibly negative experience are to try and avoid weekends and school holdiays if you are able (apparently its horrendously packed) and to organise/bring food for your little ones as the food available on site is pricey. However there are a few healthy options if thats not an issue for you.
We are truly spoiled to have this incredible facility available at a reasonable price. This is what philanthropy is all about, using abundance to provide the community with access to all the wonders the world has to offer. A truly...
Read moreLove this place for young kids! There's so much for them to do and interact with. There's an open playspace for babies to crawl around with lots of textures and mirrors. Further in, there's a big area with lights, sounds, animal displays and a big climbing section for the 3-5yo kids. Then outside there's some foam building blocks, a big sandpit and plenty of seating. They have a good parents room on site too with a nursing room, nappy change room and food prep facilities. The only downside for me is having to get tickets (included in the price of your museum admission ticket/pass) for the hourly blocks. They can be pretty flexible on weekdays/off-peak about letting you go in early for your session, but weekends can be pretty busy. So for example, if you arrive at 10:30, you can either get a ticket (if available) for the 10-11 session and then go out and get another ticket for 11-12pm, or you wait 30mins for the...
Read moreHeard so much about this place and we were not disappointed!
It's really fun for children under the ages of 5, with lots of interactive displays and things to do. You get a 50 min play time during your allocated time slot. It's best to come early to get a good timing. It was really packed when we got there. We bought our tickets at 1pm and the earliest available slot was 3pm.
I found it a little odd that parents were wearing shoes inside while the kids were encouraged to take their shoes off. There were babies crawling everywhere, so I would think that perhaps it might be better if parents entering the indoor spaces were also encouraged to remove their shoes. Other than that, it's great if you have young kids. 50 mins passed too quickly. Wished we could have...
