Happy Valley — Attraction in Sunshine Coast Regional

There are many beauty spots in the Sunshine Coast and Happy Valley rates up there with any in the top 10. Good playground, amenities, views to ocean, passage, ships passing, waterfront walkways (although not wide enough for their popularity), multiple coffee and cafe spots, great fishing, sailing, surfing, wind kiting, outriggers etc... hire boats and water craft a short 5 minutes around towards Golden Beach (north end), free parking in multiple locations and Caloundra CBD just 200m wander away. A visit to Happy Valley will not dissapoint. Lots of arty stuff to visit as well. Felicity Park is well shaded and has the regional art gallery and library plus there are local art studios and galleries in Caloundra between the top of Bulcock St and the award winning Caloundra RSL. Check them out online first to see what's currently on and how to view. Search "Art Studio Caloundra". If you are coming on holidays there are lots of events and markets that are some of the best in South East Queensland. Search Caloundra Chamber of Commerce for more links and tourist info. Way too busy for my liking. Spent close to an hour driving around looking for parking (we had agreed to meet friends there). Council officials were out fining people for parking on the verges (and I thought most of them were parked out of the way and weren't obstructing any traffic) which I thought was pretty low (albeit legal) for a holiday season. If you love densely packed crowds and spending half of the time looking for parking then this is your place! We have been there with friends before during the off season and its always pretty packed. Great for businesses and the economy, but not for people who enjoy relaxing a bit...

Happy Valley is a favourite place of mine for many decades. A beautiful coastal walkway. A range of places to park. A place with ocean and calm water views protected by a wandering park with coastal trees. Looks at the Northern part of Bribie Island. Lovely ocean breezes with the white sound of crashing waves that brighten ones day. Certainly a place to return to again and again.
