This café attracts for its prime location next to the water, with great views from the deck. I must admit I was a little hesitant, knowing that there’s often a trade off between the quality of the view and the quality the meals. Nevertheless, having been fortunate enough to find parking nearby, I decided to try my luck. The staff members who welcomed me and later took my order were very friendly, and my order was ready in next to no time. I chose poached eggs on toast, with added avocado and baby spinach. It was tasty, and a reasonable size for breakfast, though I thought the eggs were overcooked. I prefer the poached egg yolks to be still golden and runny. I enjoyed my coffee, which was flavoursome, and hot too. I thought the table clean up service was over-zealous. My plate was removed while I was still chewing my final mouthful. Perhaps they don’t want people to linger and enjoy the view that attracts customers in the first place. As there weren’t many customers, I lingered anyway, and my empty cup hasn’t been seized. Perhaps the plate collection was an exception. :)

We had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at La Promenade Cafe as a group of eight on a Thursday morning, and the entire experience was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, the front-of-house staff impressed us with their politeness and genuine helpfulness, setting a welcoming tone for our visit. The cafe itself is immaculately clean and well-maintained, offering a stunning seaside view that adds a serene and memorable backdrop to the meal. Our coffees were served promptly and were of excellent quality, which we really appreciated. For breakfast, we ordered a variety of dishes including eggs benedict, a chicken burger, and several other items. Each dish was perfectly cooked, well-presented, and delicious—clearly prepared with care and attention to detail. If you’re in the area, La Promenade Cafe is a must-visit. With its exceptional service, beautiful setting, and consistently great food, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended!

Very dissatisfied with our meals as a family of 5 today. Ordered the kids hot cakes with whipped cream and the whipped cream was off…. When we alerted the waitresses. She got us new whipped cream but tried to make us eat the same hotcakes with the off cream on it and was argumentive. The new whipped cream from a new jar was still off so we asked for ice cream instead. We made her aware of the issue and asked her to remake the hot cakes. She Just gave us attitude and didn’t apologise much, if at all. She was trying to argue the cream wasnt off and so we said try it then. And she goes. I’m dairy free….Instead of just sorting it out. Like what the hell are kids are eating this. Have some respect. Get someone else to try it or sort it out. Kids were so off put they Didnt even eat the fresh ones. Terrible customer service. We are locals and won’t be back. Over priced aswell.

1 Oct 2022 New owners or management. Lady behind the counter taking orders was rude and impatient. Asked for grilled tomato to be added to a dish. "No tomato, but you can have relish instead" (our other 3 meals came with either grilled tomato, or tomato in a salad) Asked for the Tempura Prawns. "We haven't been able to get prawns for about a month". What the? Do you want me to pop into Mooloolaba and get some? You're in the coast, for heaven's sake! She obviously hasn't been trying too hard. New owner/ manager put her hand up to stop my partner talking while he was trying to explain the order. Pretty rude! 3 dishes came out. Nice food. My daughter and I ordered the same meal. Hers took another 10 minutes to get to our table (which arrived after she complained). Poached eggs were stone cold. Sent back, money refunded, not before excuses about the waitress not being able to carry two plates. Obviously the other meal was forgotten about and left on the counter.

New management, same bad service....

Food was great. Lovely coffee. Service was lacklustre. Great views, great venue. Tues 12 January 2021 The young guy waiting on tables was lovely but your two girls were not. I was "greeted" at the counter by a blonde girl, who took my order efficiently, but without a smile or any pleasantries. She was the same towards other customers as well, and when it was close to kitchen closing time she told a group sitting behind me that "youse will have to hurry up if you want to order something as the kitchen closes at 2.30. We asked the dark haired girl for a couple of sugars for our coffee. As she came past, she threw them on our table without saying a word. We thanked her. There was no response. She later brought our meal out, and I noticed she dropped a knife of the floor as she was making her way to us. She put it back on our plate. I told her not to put it on our plate as I'd noticed she'd dropped it. She apologised and went to get another knife from the kitchen. Very disappointed with your service today. NOTE: I had privately left a message for the owner, who read it but didn't respond. Very disappointing considering this is a breach of the Health Act. I wonder what shortcuts they take behind the scenes in the kitchen? I...

1 star is already too much. The first day we went to get take away coffee, the man who worked there (older, with glasses) didn't even greet us, his first reaction was "if you aren't eating here, go wait outside as the pram is blocking our way" No please, no thank you. So rude! Anyway, thought maybe he was just in a bad mood, it happens, it was busy. Went there again the next day... First reaction was "you can't sit where you want, you have a pram, it will block our way and make serving others difficult" ????? I mean, no offence but I'm paying to eat here. If you don't like prams/kids, make it a baby/kids free CAFE. Once my husband and father in law left for 5 min, he thought it was a great time to come and pick on a female whilst sitting alone. Needless to say he was very arrogant, BEYOND arrogant/rude , raising his voice, DEMANDING to move my pram so he can move (even there werent any customers around us??) When I pulled him up about beind rude, he said we werent welcome there anymore. Food was overpriced, considering bread was old/hard and poached eggs were more like hard boiled eggs. Wouldn't go back even if someone paid me. BE AWARE, MOTHERS...

Just arrived at Caloundra for holidays and stopped in at LaPromade for lunch on the water. $37 for a small calamari and chips with 2 drinks. Lunch just served (very greasy deep fried food) and a gust of wind came blowing the A3 size menu knocking the milkshake and soda directly into the meal. We asked a waitress for assistance and she came and took the meal away and no one came back. We were left with no meal and spilt drinks dripping onto us and the floor. We went to the counter to explain what happened and a very rude waitress (with long blonde hair) told us it was our fault because we should have removed the menu off the table and noticed it was windy. She flatly refused to replace our meal or wipe down the table. As we stood up to leave after the altercation she said “don’t threaten me love” when I tried to walk out. No clue how to cook food and definitely no clue about customer service. Not a good way to start our holiday. Shame on you for being so ignorant. You run the premises and know it’s a windy location. I’m sure it’s not the first time it’s happened. The situation was made so much worse by unprofessional...
