Checked into the Caloundra Hotel with expectations as high as the Aussie sun in the middle of January, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, it was like stepping into an episode of 'Cheers' - where everybody might not know your name, but they're too charmingly Australian to care. The locals? A delightful cast of characters, dishing out one-liners so wicked, you'd think they were auditioning for a comedy special. And if laughter is the best medicine, these folks are the cure to whatever ails you. Now, let's talk food - specifically, the buffalo wings. Holy smokes, these weren't just wings; they were a religious experience. Our tastebuds took off on a flavour journey so intense, we morphed into human waterfalls. If tears of joy had a taste, it would be these buffalo wings. And the staff? Nothing short of fantastic. They navigated our hungover, hair-of-the-dog-seeking selves with the skill of a seasoned captain steering through the Great Barrier Reef. Their service wasn't just service; it was an embrace from an old friend you didn't know you had.In short, the Caloundra Hotel isn't just a place to hang your hat; it's a destination. Whether you're here to tie the knot or just to unwind, this gem guarantees good vibes, great laughs, and grub that'll have you plotting your return before you've even left. Five stars? More like a whole...
Read moreWhat an amazing night last night. The best meet-up in three seasons of the Calamari Club. Great turnout, amazing food, and fundraising was off the chart.
A massive shout out to the CBX Hotel Caloundra for putting on such an amazing event. Your hospitality was outstanding. A massive thank you for the donation of the cash to the men's charity and of course the 10 Toes Brewery goodie bag for our raffle. The hotel patrons also got involved in the raffle raising over $120 for this charity. A big congrats to Scott aka Wayne Bennett for taking home the prize.
The food was amazing. It just kept coming out. Dips and breads, salads, chips, wedges, and more calamari platters than we thought possible. Amazing. s
So a 10/10 night, the first for any venue we have visited. There have been suggestions that we have found our spiritual home and perhaps make it our regular with only quarterly visits to other venues. But one thing is certain, we have big plans ahead for the club with quarterly guest speaker events and bigger fundraising opportunities.
Remember, like, share and comment on this, get your friends along and let's grow this club and make a massive impact for...
Read more1st review, but felt the need after visiting for lunch. Whilst our food was cooking I noticed the chef handling the food, he grabbed steak from fridge and threw it on the plate with his hands, wiping hands on shirt, flip steaks with hands, grab other food put on grill, toss chips by hand, touch cooked steaks tenderness, again smearing his hands on his shirt everytime. My gf notified the waitress (unsure of name but she's the stocky one) as it seemed odd, she was extremely rude, told us the chefs were highly trained professionals and know what they're doing. I understand this but there a more hygienic ways of going about it, my gf also is coeliac so need to be careful of contamination. We spent the next 15 min. eating whilst the chef, waitress and manager stood around glaring at us occasionally and talking. Very uncomfortable, originally intended to stay for a few drinks, but couldn't wait to get out of there. Awful experience, extremely unprofessional, overpriced (RSL up the hill much better) Definitely...
