I have never wrote a bad review, because quite frankly I have never experienced such BS before.

Due to a cancellation from Lane Cove Holidays due to covid, which is perfectly fine we had to rebook with a voucher and that was a strife with the staff and was poorly treated and quite frankly was not looking forward to our stay in Tandara. However, it was a gift from my partners family so we wanted to make good use of it and have a good time. Long story short the voucher was for 2 nights, we booked for 2 nights earlier in Jan after the cancellation but wanted to push it to end of Jan as something had come up and you have to book months in advance to secure a spot. I tried to rebook and was told to speak to the manager. I spoke to the manager about rebooking and she was reluctant to change the dates as “we can’t rebook a rebooking” as per terms and conditions, which I explained it was a gift and we don’t receive terms and conditions with the gift. She understood and rebooked the dates. We turned up and after reviewing the checkin slip it said we were only staying one night, so I went to reception and the receptionist said that was correct and there is someone coming in today so she’ll call the manager. The manager got into contact with me and basically played a game stating it wasn’t her mistake and didn’t own up to making the error as she probably didn’t remember. But I remembered the entire conversation on the phone, I even tried to ask her to send me the confirmation email to my personal email, which nothing was sent. I also followed up and called again to ask for an email a week after but again not sent, so obviously being sent to my partners mothers email and opened without realising the mistake because she is not aware of the correct dates. So basically it’s her word against mine, I know I said the right dates and remember her saying two nights one being a public holiday might cost extra, will get back to you but any who, the manager obviously made a mistake whilst rebooking us for one night and not two, I asked for a refund which she dismissed saying she can only set us up on a cabin or have to come all the way back to stay another night in tandara. Coming back to stay is not an option and moving us in a subpar cabin when we booked and paid for 2 nights at a $280 rate is unacceptable. I and my partner spoke to her asking for a refund and the manager was saying there is nothing she can do. I could’ve easily said I’m staying and you can set the next couple up in the cabin after the error was made and see how they’d like it, but we were nice and asked for a refund and packed up, but apparently ripping people off is their thing and not doing the right thing to make it right is okay with them.

Again, I never make these posts just don’t want anyone else to go through the same issues and have their money taken by lane cove holiday park. After reading the reviews, I am now aware this is...

Would like to rate 0 for your very very poor customer service but not allowed, so 1 it is. We were on our way home from our holiday with our caravans. We called the park and spk to a Fiona that we were on our way there to check this place out for our future family holiday spot. She said yes we can check it out, walk around and we can even book if we want to. So our family and our elderly parents parked our caravans on the road and walked to the receptionist area because Fiona told us to do covid safe check and so on. We were greeted by a young lady and 2 older women. They said we had to fill in a form and wrote all of our names for covid safe procedure which was completely fine with us, so my husband started writing the form. While he was doing that, our elderly mother and our daughter asked them whether they could please use the toilet before walking around the park. But then these 2 older women asked what we were doing there in such a way that made us feel that we were doing something wrong. We said we wanted to check out the park for our next family holiday, then she said oh you can only stay for 5 to 10 minutes and then leave the park. Wow, we couldn't believe the treatment by these women, no compassion at all towards an elderly woman and a child who just wanted to use the toilet before checking out this place. So we decided to walk away from this park, you obviously don't care so much about growing your business. There is no way we stay there in the future after this kind of treatment. We went to many caravan parks but we never been treated like this before. They always welcome us even if we only wanted to just check out the place, they gave us a map and told us to walk around and ask any questions. You definitely should learn how to treat your...

Very dirty! The Lane Cove Discovery Park is quite expensive. We payed around 60$ per night for a powered campside. With that price point I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the weren't met at all! Everything is so dirty and run down.

There is no proper camp kitchen. Only an outdoor bbq area, that is labled as kitchen. There is no stove and thus no opportunity for cooking in the "kitchen". The surfaces are very dirty and there are ants on the counters. Therefore it is impossible to prepare food there. The grills need a proper clean too.

The worst are the amenities. The toilets and showers are super dirty and below average. Nothing you would expect when you pay 60$ or more per night. The amenities are cleaned everyday. However, after that, they were still dirty. Dead insects, spider webs, hair and other dirt can be found on the floor, walls, sinks, literarally everywhere. The whole amenities need a proper clean!!!! So disgusting and an unpleasant place to get ready in the morning and at night. Every public toilet I have been to on my journey in Australia has been cleaner.

Despite all of the negative experience, the location of the caravan park is great as you only need 35 minutes by public transport into town. The receptionist was...

Awesome location, ok facilities. Our experience was below average. We had overflowing bins, full sanitary bins, and badly behaved groups around us, which really impacted our stay. If you can get a site backing up to the national park or the edges, you will have a more peaceful experience. The speeding is out of control there, though, and they need to make changes. More signage, speed limit, and consequences in the handout provided, clear rules explained at check-in, staff, and contractors to set the standard (because they were not). We have been travelling for over 6m now full time, and this is the first time we haven't let our kids scoot or ride in a caravan park. It was just too dangerous. I also didn't realise until several days later that there were other toilet blocks that staff could have suggested for me to see if the sanitary bins were empty. Or they could have called for an immediate service from the contractor. It's lucky I'm not the kind of person who puts things down the toilet. If I was paying $30 per night, maybe these things would be tolerable. But at about $100 per night, I expect better.

We needed a cheap place near Sydney to stay the for the weekend, but we decided to spend just a little more than expected for a more fun experience and this was so worth it. The cabin wasn’t flashy but it has everything you’d need, it was perfect and cozy with very effective heating. The only time we needed service it was quick and helpful, the caravan park itself is beautiful with 2 playgrounds, many amenities and countless kookaburras. The walking trails connected to the park were beautiful and refreshing and our main reason for booking, we rented a pedal boat (separately paid company, but accessible through the trail) down the river which was a beautiful experience, and it was insane to remember how short of a distance we were from the CBD. The only con was the amount of mould on the bathroom ceiling, but even that I can understand would be hard to maintain. Overall we highly recommend!

We stayed here for a long weekend in winter in a powered site, fabulous location and super beautiful park. Park itself is very well kept, it’s hard to believe that you are in the middle of Sydney. With the new Metro line it’s around an hour to be in Circular Quay for Darling Harbour! The park itself is full of gum trees and greenery; it really is a stunning park. The run into the park from North or South is pretty clean with the vast majority of transit being on motorways. We were nervous about being around Sydney with a large caravan and tow-rig but we’re pleasantly surprised. Only negative from me is some of the sites are pretty tight for larger caravans, plus there is very low levels of light at night time. I pulled in around 6:30pm and parking up my van felt pretty scetchy solo; would recommend doing this one in daytime hours! Anyways, would happily stay here again!
