⚠️ Warning to Local Pet Owners – Aggressive Dalmatian in Wolli Creek
Just wanted to share this as a heads-up for other dog owners around Wolli Creek.
On Monday and Tuesday morning this week, a Dalmatian with brown spots (off-leash) tried to attack my small, timid Whippet while we were out for a walk. Both times, my dog was properly on a leash and keeping to himself. The Dalmatian charged aggressively, the owner struggled to control it and just stood there.
Thankfully, NO ONE was hurt — but only because I had a walking cane with me this time to protect my dog if things got out of hand. It’s the second time this has happened, and it’s honestly scary when you’re just trying to enjoy a peaceful walk.
I’m not making a formal complaint yet, but if it happens again, I’ll have to report it to Bayside Council under the Companion Animals Act 1998 (NSW).
Please, if this is your dog — for everyone’s safety — keep it on a leash. And for other locals walking their pets. We all deserve to feel safe...

There are beautiful walking paths throughout the grounds with gorgeous peek a boo views of the Cooks River. There are several educational plaques erected where you can take a walk and learn a little history of the area. There is also a very well maintained Communal Garden.
There’s a nicely shaded area with picnic tables that even has a couple bbqs. It’s dog friendly with waste bags and bins provided to pick up after your pup. There’s a small playground area aimed at the toddler age that’s fenced off. While there isn’t much street parking nearby, it’s close to the Discovery Shopping Centre parking garage where there’s plenty of spaces that’s free for 3 hours. Just turn into Brodie Spark Drive then follow the P signs, and you’ll find it. It’s a lovely space to...

Be careful of walking your dog off lead or playing fetch here as there are park rangers at times trying to book people.
If you don’t know, please remember that discovery park is private property owned by the property developers.
So if a park ranger does try to book you, then ask for the proof stating that the owners have allowed access to the park otherwise there are not to issue tickets as it’s against the law! (Know your rights!!)
If your worried or don’t want the hassle of park rangers then there is a off leash dog park about 10mins walk...
