Service has improved immensely. The food is ever evolving and always on point with the standard menu. I have been going to this cafe since inception and place is always busy so yes, a few bumps along the way will occur but so what? It’s a cafe, not a 5 star restaurant.

I’ve read all the negative comments on this restaurant and there seems to be a common sentence along the way “I been to this cafe a few times, I’ve been to this cafe on and off for 3 years” and so on... the staff can only feed off your energy so if you bring negativity in from your last experience then I am sure your heightened hate of the place can find something to pick on. If you can find the time to voice your opinion online, perhaps you should approach the manager in the first instance and voice your concerns with them at the time.

If my food was not to my certain liking, I have requested a change and I have never received the request begrudgingly. If I did not like my coffee, I have requested a remake, no dramas. If I believe the customer service has been bad, I have approached management who have had a word to me. Upon returning some months later, manager remembered me and confirmed she has taken action - this was a surprise to me that I was even remembered.

I am sure any manager would be empathetic and provide reassurance to not lose you as a customer if they know about it. If they don’t, how can they improve? I assure you any owner of a business cannot afford to lose a...

We come to the Lokal Cafe quite often and really enjoy the quality, taste, and presentation of the dishes they serve. It's always tasty and aesthetically appealing.

A major constructive feedback that I can provide is: smiling, warm welcoming, checking on customers are essential components of a hospitality business.

Yes, food quality and dish presentation are absolutely important (which you guys excel at), but so is the quality of receptiveness, that certainly contributes to enhancing customer loyalty, equally as much as food quality.

I dont wanna name and shame but interacting with a one or two of the staff there reminds me of some of the most intense UFC staredowns I've seen. I'm a tough guy but I sometimes get chills down my spine when I need to interact with those two staff. I feel like telling them "Jeez! A smile wont hurt, trust me!"

Anyways, bottom line is: the quality, options and presentation of the food is top notch! Just do your business a massive favour and smile more when interacting with customers,...

We are regulars of this cafe, usually very consistent and tasty breakfast / brunch with great specials on the weekends.

We have been ordering coffees from Lokal during lockdown and were really keen to get back for our regular brunch spot after they re-opened. We visited this afternoon and menu has been changed which is understandable however the quality has dropped big time. I ordered the big breakfast, which used to consist of all the usuals (eggs, bacon, cooked tomatoes etc). Which have now been swapped to include a cold salad of spinach and slices of tomato. The bread was also listed as sourdough but it was changed without staff letting us know. Parts of on the meal were forgotten off the plate and Coffee orders were mixed up.

We will definitely continue to support these guys as we think it was an off day but we hope the menu is amended to reflect the quality we have come to expect from years of...

In my view, the best place for breakfast and lunch in Wolli Creek Discovery Village. It gives you a good combination of western and eastern types of food in the menu multiplied by great chef effort making food very yummy. My all times choices are Waffle Benedict, Avo smash and Lamb ragout pasta. Special words for really good coffee. Guys use Campos beans (they also cell them) and know how extract them in a good way. Finally, staff is very friendly and in general place has really nice vibe.

I've been a regular at Lokal cafe for many years. The service has always been amicable, the food usually arrives swiftly, and the prices are generally OK. However, I was a bit disappointed with the poached eggs I ordered today (photos for reference). Regardless, I'm maintaining a 4-star rating this time due to their consistently excellent service and overall decent cuisine. But we will certainly be more attentive in assessing the quality of my meal during my next visit.

Having my brunch several times here. The food is generally good and the portion is quite generous. The ambience and location are also good. The coffee is also good. The floor staff and service are poor. As a business owner myself, I notice it right away that the issue here is leadership or even cultural issue. The waitress is not even trying to serve you until you call them. They are not friendly at all. No smile, nothing. Well, it’s not Karen’s Diner though!
