On 19 Jan 2025 (Sunday),while having lunch at Fishbowl in MQ Shopping Center, we encountered an absurd situation today. While we were waiting for our food, an England lady approached on her own, sat next to us, and suddenly started making targeted and discriminatory comments. When we clearly expressed that we wanted to stop the conversation and asked her to leave, she insisted on staying, saying she needed to have this conversation. She then explicitly said, “Go back to your country.” After this, we contacted the staff to handle the situation. Chris, the staff at Fishbowl, handled the situation very well. After attempting to communicate with the lady to no avail, he immediately asked her and her companion to leave the restaurant. He also came to speak with us to understand the full context and, before leaving, told us he would report the incident to security and apologized. The man sitting with her in the video is her companion, though we’re not sure if he is her partner. He did not say anything throughout the entire incident. Our original seating was one table away from her, and after we clearly asked her to stop the conversation and moved a table back, she continued making discriminatory remarks. At this point the staff started to get involved. After being asked to leave by Chris, she came back later and started aggressively flipping us the bird (unfortunately, I didn’t record this part on my phone, but definitely it’s captured in the in-store camera) She seemed to be far-right and possibly mentally unstable. Initially, we considered calling the police since she wouldn’t let us eat and kept interrupting us. However, Chris’s handling of the situation ensured that we were protected as customers, which made us reconsider calling the police. I urge MQ students or those living near MQ to remember this lady from England (as she told us) If you encounter her or at MQ a similar situation, please contact the store manager or staff to handle it. You absolutely have the right to call the police 👮. However, please, please, please avoid any physical contact and prioritize your safety. There’s no need to argue further with such individuals. It’s like, if a dog bites you, would you bite the dog back? 🐶

INCORRECT ORDER - I ordered 2x OG Salmon bowls: one with brown rice and the other with mixed cabbage. I had even paid extra to double the protein. Instead, both bowls were made with brown rice and the salmon portions looked like the standard portion, not double. If this is their version of double then.... wow. What makes it worse is that the lovely counter staff did take the time to label the bowls correctly, showing care and attention, but the kitchen completely ignored the order details. It shows a lack of care where it matters most. As I was rushing to get back to work, I didn't have time to check the order. Neverthess, takeaway should be something customers can trust without needing to double-check before leaving the premises.

Great new healthy fast food restaurant in Macquarie Centre. Great spin on the poke bowl with lots of fresh ingredients. The OG was delicious. I’m keen to try the other bowls. And you can build your own if you want. Small but very clean place and the staff wipe down the tables between customers. Fast service. They provide still or sparkling water on tap. Wish they would use reusable bowls for dine in customers to cut down on waste. As a takeaway option, it’s great to have compostable bowls.

I am a regular customer to this outlet and absolutely love all the salad bowls. However, the quality of service at this particular outlet is not consistent and the staff are not customer-centric. Today I was there between 1:30pm - 1:45pm (Check the video footage to understand what I am referring to) and ordered a take away. They were plenty of staff around, however they were busy chit-chatting with each other and not focusing on the order. The person preparing the order was constantly chatting to the other staff members and dint pay any attention in preparing the bowl. Her primary focus was in chatting with the other staff and then turn to her attention to the order in between. This leads to the quality not being up to to the mark and introduces unnecessary delay in processing the orders. You can talk when there are no orders, however when they is an order and the customer is right in front of you, the focus should be on preparing the bowl.

Most of the times, the center is not staffed adequately, and there is only one member taking the orders, preparing the food etc. For a busy center like this, you cannot run the show with just one or two staff members.

Hope this feedback is taken seriously and make sure the right staff are appointed. Otherwise this can ruin the...

I recently ordered at this place and I found the staff to be extremely helpful and attentive. The only reason I am writing a review is due to the fact that I overheard a group of teenage boys talking bad about a specific staff worker and I just read their negative google review.

This staff worker personally treated me with respect but unfortunately, the teenagers' disrespectful comments didn't match my experience. It's disheartening to witness such behaviour towards hardworking staff members, especially when they provide excellent service. The worker I encountered was not only attentive but also courteous and professional.

Those young teenage boys should learn to treat staff members with more respect and it is appalling to see their disrespect become immortalised online.

It's important to acknowledge exceptional service, and I hope this review highlights the commendable efforts of the staff, despite the negativity...
