Mixue Ice Cream & Tea 蜜雪冰城 — Attraction in Sydney

I came here today at 1pm, and it was my first time ordering alone at Mixue! The self-order booths are pretty easy to use, and also tell you what the bestsellers are so if you're unsure of what to get (like I was) you can pick one of those. You can also customise the sugar and ice levels which I think is great and easier done on the self-order than to recite the order in-person to the staff (though you can do that too). But the best part, is that by the time I had paid and got my receipt, I turned around and my ice cream was already done! The woman working behind the counter came around to give it to me. Then in 20 more seconds, my boba was done too. It was actually kind of terrifying to see them work so fast- between me paying and receiving my order, less than a minute had passed.

And the food itself was really good! The ice cream is massive (it is milk flavour, NOT vanilla, but I knew that coming in) and for $2.20 I don't think it could be beaten elsewhere. I got some jealous looks from the passersby since it looked pretty impressive (in my image, the base of the cone is touching the seat- it was 25 cm tall in total!). And the boba is also really good! I had the strawberry boba and it comes with orange slices which made it taste really good. I was very disappointed when i received my cocoa cookie sundae. At the beginning of the year when i ordered the exact same sundae the ice cream was filled to the top but i was a bit sad that there was a huge hole down the middle which i didn't really mind because honestly it tastes amazing. But as soon as they raised the price by 30 cents i began thinking, is it really worth it? Today when i received my cocoa cookie sundae, the ice cream was barely even filled half of the way and of course there was a giant hole down the middle. Usually when i arrive at north ryde from chatswood i'm 3/4 done with my sundae. Today i was 3/4 done with my sundae AT CHATSWOOD WAITING FOR THE METRO and halfway along the way to north ryde i was done. Not even any melted ice cream left on the bottom which there usually is. I noticed the change in the amount as soon as i saw it and i was very puzzled. My friend helped me go up to the worker there and asked if they could add a bit more ice cream because it was pretty noticeable. The worker said that it was the normal amount which it wasn't (unless they changed it) as i bought the same thing from mixue throughout the whole year. Employee was not nice and unhelpful.

Asked for take away bag and was told i need to pay for it, which i was fine with. I asked to pay by card and she told me to go back to the self kiosk to order it, while was she was literally standing next to a register.

So i went back to the kiosk to look for take-away bag options, bought a large bag. Went back to take my order and she handed me a Hungry Panda plastic bag and told me they ran out of the Mixue drink bags 🫠….

I know that they get those bag for free from the delivery company but she made me go back to the kiosk to pay for it. I did mention that i paid for a large drink bag and she told me this is all they had… like it’s just a few cents i paid but just the attitude and how the employee said it was very disheartening.
