Centenary Cottage Museum — Attraction in Tenterfield

Fascinating collection of memorabilia from days gone beautifully preserved. I was one of 26 people on a Simes bus tour of the Oracles of the Bush weekend. We all enjoyed the museum in a beautiful house built in 1871. Most interesting to read about the previous occupants over the years. A side room contained miltary history including the story of General Chauvel of the light horse. A special entertainment was provided of bush poetry and songs. Also tea and delicious home made cakes by the members of the Tenterfield Historical Society....

This is the best historical collection for a town I have ever seen. Items included history of Tenterfield, original furniture, some hand made, beautiful hand made clothing, info on the late Peter Allan, as well as Sir Henry Parkes... the founder of Federation in Australia 🇦🇺 and many more...
