Worst experience. We went in at 10:20 am on a Monday morning and could not get served. We waited at the counter after signing in and waited in line for 5 mins. When they finally spoke to us asked us if we were dining in and if so take a seat and someone will be out to get your order. We went outside and waited and waited and waited. Another couple were there still waiting too. I went back inside and waited again for another 5 mins. No one spoke to me. 15 mins had passed. I then saw someone who worked at the bank come in and make his own coffee on the machine in his keep cup. I approached him and he said ânot my Buisnessâ I asked whoâs Buisness it was then! He pointed to the young man at the till, I asked him what was going on and he said we were busy, but they werenât and had 4 staff on. I said it was unacceptable that we couldnât place an order and we went to leave, I looked into the kitchen and saw the staff standing in the back laughing at my outburst and then left. I mean, weâre a small family wanting to order a coffee and cake, thatâs it, and this is what we had to go through. We then came to the corner cafe hand got served Instantly and warmly. Fire place on, food beautiful, friendly staff. This says a lot about the Willow Tree cafe....
Read moreI am begrudging posting this because i think the owner is probably unaware of the issues at this cafe, and as a small business I hate to see them lose business but this needs to be said. The food was great and the service from 2 of the 3 staff was fantastic. It just really sucks that their female barista has such a poor attitude to staff and customers. We witnessed her - swearing at staff in front of customers, ignoring an order because she didn't know the size of the coffee, putting up the closed sign mid-service because she was flustered and then insulting customers who didn't see the closed sign, taking more than 20 minutes to serve a coffee takeaway order to an emergency services worker (who walked out in the end) and the list goes on. I don't mind if people swear on occassion but dropping the f-bomb around a family friendly cafe is not really ok. I hope the owner sees this and talks to this barista about her attitude. I probably won't go back if she is there. But as i said the food is good - so if you don't mind bad attitude at the coffee machine you...
Read more"no children welcome" The rudest Cafe ever. I decided to post this to advise the owners to please get out of customer service. You clearly do not enjoy it. Or you just hate children. My experience was a couple years ago and thought they were selling because they were rude... Apparently they are still in business. I came in to order milkshakes for my kids. However, We were asked to leave, literally! and after my child started to cry. Apparently it was because I had a take away coffee cup from another Cafe which wasn't obvious and there was no one in the Cafe to see. I was lectured that it was rude and discourteous to have one in my hand in another Cafe. Saying something about taking A beer from one hotel to another was not done !!! My kids were devastated and continued to cry on the street. It was embarrassing for all of us. I have NEVER in my life been treated so rudely, disrespectfully, nor cruelly and in public. Please sell your Cafe to someone who likes serving people or put a sign up saying "no...
