Very over priced Staff unfriendly Small portions Beautiful location Table set out beautifully
Chose this venue for my daughters 21st birthday as they did a $45 high Tea. We had to pay the full amount for all 17 guests A week before hand. I was so dissspointed as I was expecting the hefty $45 per head meant we were in for a treat. 3 people couldn’t make it and we were fine that we had to forfeit the $135 as we understood that they had to buy and prepare in advance. However 4 guests were arriving late so we agreed with the staff to go ahead and serve our scones with jam and cream and jugs of orange juice. We had 1 each with only 1 Left over. As the late comers arrived they asked if we were ready for the 2nd course I reminded them that the 4 latecomers had not had their scones yet they then went on to explain that there were no more scones left. I complained that we had payed for 17 people and that even with the 4 latecomers we still only had 14 guests. They handed out 4 croissants(plain) we had to ask for jam and butter. We were served tea but had to ask for teaspoons. We were then given Little quarters of various sandwiches witch equated to Approx. 3 each, not even a full round. Then we were served 12 mini coc brownies, not even 1 each and approximately 2 mini maccarrons each. The experience was finished of with a shot glass of a lemon cordial slushy drink. Couldn’t help but feel disappointed that there was barely enough food, considering we had payed for 3 extras who couldn’t make it. They had obviously not served us there food. I didn’t make to much of a scene and complain as I didn’t want to spoil my daughters special occasion. However I will not go back or recommend that other people try out this option as a high...
Read more4-4.5 stars. Venue: a former historic chapel next to the carpark / entrance of Botanic Garden. But not easy to find a car spot on the day of our visit (weekay/ had a funeral at visitor centre?). Very popular. Pet-friendly. Small area indoor. More outdoor space. Both are lovely. Need to find a table first, then queue up to order & pay at front desk --- 8.5/10 Service: busy but fast. Very attentive, nice and helpful. Cozy. Very welcoming. --- 7.7/10 Food: good presentation. Reasonable price. Normal portion. Garden Poke Bowl $17 + Smoked Salmon, $6 (~4 pcs): good portion. Well- cooked brown rice on the bottom. Rice on the very bottom was a bit salty because of soy dressing, need to mix well with other elements first. Kale, cucumber, beans and bean sprouts were fresh and crunchy. Pickled carrots were not pickled. Lime give it acidity. Only the color of avocado changed slightly. --- 7.5/10 Laksa Eggs Benedict, $20: laksa infused Hollandaise was pretty good, not overpowering. Other elements were also good. Two poached eggs were spot-on. --- 8/10 Hot chocolate: served with 1 marshmallow. Lovely. Not bland. Iced...
Read moreStaying in Darwin for a week, and we just found this gem today ( due to fly back to Brisbane on Saturday ) We wish to find it earlier and its a walking distance from our accommodation! Ordered the Laksa Egg Benedict with salmon ( it was scrumptious!! ), it sounded interesting on the menu, it looked good when it was presented and tasted delicious!! I would have it everyday for my breakfast!! Hubby had chocolate thick shake, and it was the real thick shake on the stainless steel cup ( which it should be ) unlike others they go on the glass! Hubby loved it!! It was thick, real milk and tasted so nice he said. The staff was lovely ( the lady with a blonde hair ). She was quick, friendly and welcoming! Plenty of tables at the front and at the back as well under the trees. The place was really nice inside the botanical garden itself. We could just sit there for the whole day enjoying their food and drinks. Plenty of parkings and dog friendly too. Also its disabled access too. We definitely will come again next time when we visit...
