2nd World War Memorial Aquatic Centre (South Side Pool) — Attraction in Wandal

While the facility is lovely for leisure purposes this review is for bluefit swim school. A year ago I took my daughter for a swimming assessment because her swim school, which we were very happy with closed down. We were told there are a few small corrections to make and she can move up to a higher level. At the time she was ahead for her age. One year later, 2 lessons per week she has still not moved up in fact an assessment by another external instructor puts her behind for her age group. Every assessment she has undergone at bluefit has been by a different assessor there is zero teaching continuity and yesterday my daughter collided with another child in the pool because the instructor was not paying attention. Avoid this place if you care about your child's swimming development. If you you don't mind lacklustre instruction and throwing money into the bin have at it!

I am leaving this review here because bluefit has obviously not opted into...

One star because the pool is open I guess... The one pool undercover is lamed off for lap swimmers of which there are currently 3.... I have been here when there were none ...this is holiday time and the undercover pool is kept for a few ...the seating where parents could stay undercover and watch their family enjoy responsibly overlook ....you guessed it the lap lanes... Sooo OPTION 2....IS middle pool ...full sunshine...luke warm ... no more than that...uncomfortably warm ... possibly nice for little ones but then there is the brilliant burning cancer causing sun and no relief for children or watchers as once again the side that has ...what 3 seats undercover looks over again an area set out for training so we the general public have another decreased sized area to enjoy ...All I can say is I am finding it harder to say this is an enjoyable experience that local pools are meant to be ..Poor Rockhampton another feature bites...

Arrived at the centre to use the heated pool at 2pm. Was told it closes at 2.30pm for cleaning. I said I needed to do post surgery exercises so I would do the 30 mins and come back tomorrow at an earlier time. I haven't been here for a year as I come from Victoria so I was surprised that there were no floating devices, weights or noodles that I could use. The water was so uncomfortably cool that I only stayed for 15 minutes. I asked the life guard about it and he said they have had trouble with the heater. I mentioned that there were only a couple of people in the pool and that was probably why. I spoke to the lady at the kiosk and she just said.... Did you report it to the life guard .... And I said yes. I hope this is rectified soon as it is a shame to have such a nice pool in the town and it not being used due to the cool temperature. ( Disabled people and the elderly need a warm...
