The Barbecue Box — Restaurant in Queensland

The food was not good!! Got the stir fry glass noodles. Was not good at all!!! We shared the plate between 5 people and they all said it was bad and we left it! Didn’t even eat it cause it was that bad! It was too salty and this is not what stir fry glass noodles taste like. Not authentic. If you’re going to advertise something, at least make it taste nice.

We ordered some meat for the Korean bbq, it wasn’t too bad but the quality of the meat wasn’t good, I was expecting abit better for the price we were paying. I honestly could’ve just stayed home, marinated some chicken breast cut thinly and marinated for a cheaper price. Also there was no air vents. My friends started coughing violently with all the smoke coming out from the smoke and burnt stuff on the plate!! They need to add some ventilation.

Some of my friends are religious so they can’t eat certain meats and asked the server if they could separate the different meats, cross contamination between the meats is like a sin in their culture, but even after asking him to separate them they still brought it out with all the different meats touching each other. Totally not accommodating to my friends cultural needs at all. He also said he was familiar and was from similar background as my friends but still proceeds to disregard my friends plea as they didn’t end up eating the meat at all as the meats were all mixed together. He also goes on and attacks my friends saying how they can’t talk in the language and how they should break my friends cultural practices and just eat the meat.

No cultural considerations at all!!! If you want customers you shouldn’t be disrespecting or disregarding simple little things. Mind you this was our first time going as well, so this was not the best experience at all. Will not be going back. Very disrespectful.

They will most likely take my review off as it ruins their rating but seriously, do better. If you’re going to advertise something, at least make it taste good and worth the money. The experience wasn’t even worth it...

I was really excited to try the barbecue box, but ultimately was disappointed by the high pricing on frozen food, the overall uncleanliness of the dinning room and the complete lack of care in the restaurants atmosphere. I would be embarrassed to my core to invite someone for a dinner at my place if my house was in a similar state to this restaurant, let alone to charge customers $50 a head. From the decrepit mismatch of tables and chairs (as if collected from the side of the side of the road on a Saturday), the lighting constant flickering (each bulb unmatched in temperature and design, giving the entire place an eerie feel), the continuous and out of place House remixes of your favourite songs made infinitely worse blasting through two PC speakers seeming slapped on a wall (the walls themselves being covered with old paper, leftover tape blu-tack and gunk), to the dire and disgusting state of the windows, floor and the rott of toilet paper old cans and gunk left behind the bar (I guess out of sight out of mind??), add together to create an in uninviting and unpleasant environment. The food itself wasn’t terrible (if you can put the price aside) and it was enjoyable to use the BBQ’s and dream of what the restaurant could look like if someone actually cared, but if you are looking for a nice atmospheric dining experience for you and the people you care about I suggest you...
