We spent a wonderful week with fabulous hosts Lynne and John, aboard Sydney Sundancer with our 4 children and very good friends of ours who were also a family of 2 adults and 2 children. The boat really is very expertly planned and we very much enjoyed the space on deck to watch the sunsets and views as we moved between locations. There was a juggle of space to set up at night, but we were all very comfortable and each had our own beds, nothing was too much trouble. Lynne’s cooking was next level amazing, and our children still keep mentioning the very ‘fancy’ food we were treated to each day! We were celebrating four birthdays between us all and Lynne very thoughtfully baked us two very delicious cakes complete with decorations and candles. I bought their book as a memento but particularly so that I can recreate her delicious meals once we are back home! Lynne’s photographs of our week provided on USB as a memento for us was just another example of their commitment to providing the full luxury sailing experience. We experienced fabulous sunsets, amazing snorkelling, wonderful bushwalks and stunning vistas with each night docked in a different bay. John’s experience as Captain was very reassuring and he guided the boat to the best spot each day according to the conditions. I would highly recommend booking with Lynne and John, sooner rather than later, in case they book out. Thank you again for...
Read moreHi, My partner and l experienced sailing on the Sydney Sundance with John as our captain from Sydney to the Whitsundays. Boy what an experience! Like most sailing that happens there are always ups and downs. I can say it was hard work but the ups totally out weighed the downs. On the trip we enjoyed endless dolphins, whales, some of the best snorkling I've done in the world, learnt how to actually navigate for our first sail. This was our first sail and it went for 21 days, not for the light hearted l can tell you. Special mention to my Partner for going through it with me as l think a big portage of women would not. Another mention for John our captain, although we did have some problems getting started and other issues. He was always onto everything and kept good care of us all. He is a lovely man with great character and fun to be around. We ate great meals which everyone contributed to and l think maybe my partner Millas dumplings came in first spot. Although Andrea you do get a mention as your meals were supurb.
I have shared a few great pictures here which you could all expect to experience.
Thank you John for our experience aboard the Sydney Sundancer and best of luck for the future. A trip that will stay with us for life, much appreciated.

Read moreWe boarded the Sydney Sundancer at Hamilton Island and settled in a beautiful inlet which instantly set the scene for the great adventure that followed. After exploring Aboriginal caves and artwork we set sail for days of different delights around the islands featuring incredible snorkeling, coral and fish. Hosts Lynne and John have the most incredible knowledge of the Great Barrier Reef and in particular the Whitsunday Islands. Detailed understanding of tides, winds, currents etc ensured we arrived at each destination at the optimal time in perfect conditions. Our trip to the outer reef was rewarded by perfect underwater visibility that revealed why this is indeed one of the seven wonders of the natural world. The boat, food, photo presentations, great fun and camaraderie made this THE MOST PERFECT HOLIDAY. Five nights aboard the Sydney Sundancer in the Whitsundays was more enthralling and relaxing than any three week holiday I...
