My visit in 2019: Nice views, good service, but my pasta meal was absolutely tasteless.
My 2nd visit in 2022: wanted to have dinner here. We stood in the line for quite some time, when finally got to the counter and wanted to order. Then I saw this sign stick to the cash register reading you first have to find a table before you order. So basically if you are a solo traveller or a single parent with a little kid whom you can't leave alone at the table you won't be able to eat here, i.e. if I find a table and leave it to go to the counter and order, then someone will take the table before I could return to it. When I expressed this concern the girl at the cashier just made faces and rolled her eyes. Apparently my money isn't as good as other paying customers' because I didn't want to leave my 2 year old alone at the table to go and order our meals. Assuming they don't provide child minding services at the tables, maybe the solution would have been to make an exception to this rule or to offer us to find a table and someone could come and take our orders? If they can bring the meals to the tables then they may be able to get an order there too of those customers who don't have another adult with them who could stay at the table. Also, I would have accepted if this was their rule, as long as it's communicated to me on time, like at the entrance not when we already stand in the line and get to the counter. We plan to return to Hamilton island, but surely won't return to this...
Read moreCame here for my partner and I’s anniversary wanting to have a nice lunch. There were no tables left but we were told to order anyways and then find a table, which we did. We ordered with Jayde, who had a very unenthusiastic, arrogant and rude attitude to begin with. She wanted to know where we were sitting, so we told her we didn’t have a table yet, and she stared at us blankly and told us maybe try upstairs if we can’t find one elsewhere. We happened to quickly find a table on the main level right after we ordered. We were then left absolutely speechless and appalled when Jayde came with our food, she rudely and unnecessarily said unprovoked “Excuse me. Just for next time tell us where you’re sitting. I was running around upstairs trying to find you.” and stormed off. We were sitting smack bang in the middle of the pub, with our table number clearly displayed and she walked past us several times prior. I have worked in busy hospitality for the past 3 years and know how stressful it may be, but that was the poorest customer service I have ever experienced. While Reece and the other staff members were lovely, Jayde was extremely rude and it honestly ruined our day. You never know what someone is going through, it costs...
Read moreI recently visited the Marina Tavern with my beloved family and I must say, it was an absolute delight. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and friendliness, and that set the tone for the rest of our dining experience. As a foodie, I was impressed by the delectable dishes on the menu, but what stood out for me was the mouth-watering scotch fillet that I had. It was cooked to perfection and had me savoring every bite. My daughter, who is a picky eater, was thrilled with her chicken schnitzel and it was clear that the chefs put a lot of love and care into preparing our meals.
The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect for our family, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. We had our toddler with us, and I was relieved to see that the restaurant was child-friendly, with ample space and high chairs available. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and tended to our every need. Their attentiveness and genuine care for our experience left a lasting impression on us.
All in all, it was an unforgettable dining experience, and I would highly recommend the Marina Tavern to anyone looking for a personalised and intimate dining experience with...
