I recently visited the Sails Bar on Hamilton Island and overall, it was a delightful experience. The vibrant atmosphere, friendly, staff and delicious veggie burgers made it a memorable dining spot. Let's start with the highlight of my visit - the veggie burger. As a vegetarian, I'm always on the lookout for tasty plant-based options, and Sails Bar did not disappoint. The veggie burger was a flavorful masterpiece, with a perfectly grilled patty made from a variety of vegetables and spices. The combination of textures and flavors was spot-on, and it was a refreshing change from the usual veggie burger offerings. I highly recommend trying it, even if you're not a vegetarian. The staff at Sails Bar were attentive and accommodating, making sure that my dining experience was enjoyable. They were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to provide recommendations. The service was prompt, and the staff made me feel welcome throughout my visit. However, I did encounter one issue during my dining experience. I had requested to convert a kids' vegetarian pasta into a main pasta size for an adult, willing to pay a higher price. Unfortunately, the chef was not flexible in accommodating this request. While I understand that there may be limitations in the kitchen, it would have been appreciated if they could have been more accommodating, especially considering the willingness to pay a higher price. This lack of flexibility was a bit disappointing and could be an area for improvement. Despite this minor setback, the overall experience at Sails Bar was enjoyable. The bar itself had a lively and inviting ambiance, perfect for relaxing and enjoying a meal or drinks with friends. The menu offered a variety of options, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences. In conclusion, Sails Bar is a vibrant spot on Hamilton Island, offering delicious veggie burgers and a welcoming atmosphere. While the veggie burger was a standout, the limited flexibility in accommodating certain requests, as experienced with the chef, was a slight drawback. Nonetheless I, would still recommend visiting Sails Bar for a satisfying dining experience. Contributing to Google Maps has been a pleasure, and I hope this review provides helpful insights for others considering a to visit Sails Bar on...
Read moreI was going to order for takeaway a battered flathead fillet kid’s meal for my 1yr old child when I was told that the meal cannot be eaten outside the restaurant. The takeaway menu didn’t mention about any meals that must be consumed within the restaurant (and also it’s a takeaway menu) that’s why I was flabbergasted when the staff mentioned this. The supervisor also mentioned that I cannot order the flathead fish for takeaway and can only get either the pasta or nuggets, again no mention in the takeaway menu about this. The supervisor also mentioned that they already ceased offering the takeaway menu days ago, and yet there were 3 menus showing at the counter. She then insisted that I had to order a main meal which I told her I was going to pay for the kids meal and not interested with the kids eat free offer. By now, I am so frustrated with all the hoo-ha and all I wanted was to get a kid’s meal for my child who by now is starving. Please remove anything in your restaurant that’s no longer offered to avoid confusion. Also, put additional information in your menu if some are now allowed for takeaway better yet remove in your takeaway menu. Customer service training would be another suggestion...
Read moreBooked a table here for dinner as we heard really good things about it luckily I went to confirm cos turned out they didn’t put it in the system but they managed to fit us in at a later seating. We were given a table quickly but had to ask for water and it was 10 min before it came to the table, same for the drinks which ended up coming after we were halfway through our meals. The food itself was really average, everything came out too quickly and it was clear there was no care or effort put into it. The edamame was hard and not cooked properly, the chicken wings clearly cooked earlier and then redone because they were dry and the kids meals looked like dog food. The nicest thing was the Massaman curry served with cold rice so that tells you something.
We are restaurant owners ourselves and understand the impact Covid has had on businesses but there is no excuse for bad service and bad food when you charge people full price. There were 7 waiters in the restaurant with no one coming to check on our food, provide napkins or ask if we wanted drinks. This place has more managers and restaurants than any other place on the island but clearly no one knows how to...
