My many children ,husband and I took lessons from SMT , varying no of days and levels of expertise so many different instructors involved. Mostly the experience was very good , with fabulous instructors including Daniel,Wolfe and Bo. They instilled confidence and encouraged their students to go at a pace comfortable for them and surpassed their expectations . However I had bad experience , lost all confidence gained previously and it ruined 1 of my 4 days skiing ,a costly experience in spite of getting a refund .. Andrew was an instructor at the lower intermediate level with a mix of total beginners and skiers that had skied previously ,we're rusty and wanted to refresh their skills at a slower pace . Unfortunately in spite of me moving from more experienced groups twice , so I could practice ,gain confidence and enjoy skiing he brought the group onto a red with 2 young girls on their 3rd day of skiing Ever . They were crying ,distraught ,shaking and very disillusioned with the whole experience. They were stuck on the slope for 30 mins falling and trying to come down , while we as a group could only watch helplessly at the bottom . Needless to say they didn't want to go back up ,Andrew promised them and the group that we were going to only do blues from then on . The girls didn't go back to the group, and they lost a half day skiing. When I rejoined the group, getting off the chair lift ,Andrew had decided again to tackle the same red in spite of me explaining that I had moved 2 groups down to only do blues and regain my confidence and enjoyment of skiing . I left the group and had to make my way ,alone ,down the slopes, not knowing the way and fearfull i might end up on a red or black slope . There was a lovely man in charge, he gave a refund but it didn't make up for a lost day skiing , getting totally disolusioned, losing my confidence even further and not wanting to return on a family skiing holiday .. Their was another group with only 4 people of mixed ability , my group had 10 of again mixed ability should have been made into 2 distinct groups based on ability . Changes to be made If properly organised the groups should have been separated each morning on the basis of ability ,each member should have been asked their goals and separated accordingly. I wanted to gain confidence and enjoyment ,i didnt want to do reds .... The young girls wanted to be able to stop, change direction etc in essence ski with control and confidence .. Some of the men in our group loved speed and probably wanted to move to reds .... Andrew didn't instil confidence ,wasn't a good teacher ,couldn't break down and give detail to the young girls to get them to concentrate on the detail to bring them down safely when coming down from the red . Andrew needs a lesson in manners ,communication and how to teach and listen to his students so that everybody has a...

From the moment my wife and kids, all beginners at skiing including very young kids and my wife, stepped into the SMT Ski School in Meyrhofen, we knew we were in for an exceptional experience. The excellence of their instructors is unparalleled. These professionals are not just experts in guiding beginners but also possess an extraordinary patience and a wonderful attitude towards young children. Their ability to make skiing accessible and enjoyable for the entire family is a rare find.
During our time at the school, we opted for private lessons, around 6 or 7 in total, to ensure personalized attention. On one occasion where a lesson didn’t meet our expectations, the response from SMT Ski School was nothing short of remarkable. Without any hesitation, they scheduled a replacement lesson free of charge, showcasing their unparalleled commitment to customer satisfaction.
The professionalism, kindness, and high quality of service provided by SMT Ski School set them apart from any other ski school we have encountered in Austria. Their instructors and the entire team go above and beyond to make your skiing experience memorable.
To anyone contemplating skiing lessons, especially if you are a beginner or have young children, I cannot recommend SMT Ski School enough. Opting for private lessons with them will not only ensure you learn from the best but also guarantee a supportive and enjoyable learning environment. They truly are the best in Austria, and we are already looking forward to...
Read moreWe had the most amazing week learning to ski with SMT! Our incredible instructor, Bram, can only be described as a magician. I’ve always wanted to ski, but as someone terrified of heights (with a few failed attempts behind me), I wasn’t sure it was possible. Bram completely transformed that for me and our group.
We were a mixed group of skiers, from absolute beginners to advanced, and Bram worked wonders with the beginners. I cannot recommend him highly enough! His professionalism, calm demeanour, and constant encouragement genuinely changed our lives. He managed to balance teaching with so much fun, and he created such a fantastic dynamic within the group.
By the end of the week, we went from being terrified on the nursery slopes to confidently mastering the blue slopes, marvelling at the breath-taking mountain views, and enjoying the best hot chocolates along the way. Even the one non-skier in our group was so inspired by our stories each evening that they decided to give skiing a try. SMT was incredibly accommodating, arranging a taster class by the third day, and by the end of the week, they were also confidently tackling blue slopes!
All ski schools are not created equal, and SMT stands out as truly exceptional. They ensure you get the support you need, at the right level, and always with safety as a priority. Bram, thank you for an unforgettable week of adventure, laughs, and views. You’ve turned what seemed impossible into a joyful and life-changing experience! SMT and Bram,...
