One of the best place to have an excellent look at the Copacabana apart from the mesmerising and unforgettable play of colours when the sun sets in the lake Titicaca along the island of the sun.
While trekking up do carry a lots of water part from a sun hat, goggles and sunscreen. It does get windy on the top so carry some light woollens and cheaters.
There are few shacks on the top which sell water, soft drinks, snacks etc. There is a guy with a telescope also at the top with which you can see right up till the nearest Peruvian town apart from the Sun island( of course for a price). Unfortunately this gentleman hardly stays till sunset. So go a little early if interested in the telescopic view.
Wait till the end to enjoy the complete beauty of the place. Do carry a head lamp or a torch as on the way back it suddenly gets dark and not the complete way is illuminated.

Read moreCerro Calvario in Copacabana offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Titicaca, especially at sunset.
The short but steep hike to the top is well worth the effort, rewarding visitors with an incredible vantage point over the lake and town.

The lack of proper maintenance or cleanup efforts is evident, and it significantly detracts from the overall experience.
If more attention were given to preserving the site, Cerro Calvario could easily be a top-tier destination. Until then, visitors should be prepared to enjoy the views while also navigating a disappointing...
Read moreYou can walk up this mountain. Great views of Lake Titicaca and Copacabana below. Worthwhile if you have half a day to spare—but I wouldn't do this if you still have more to see in the town. (Or if you're Catholic, you might benefit from doing it as a religious experience, I wouldn't know.) Be ready for a little huffing and puffing if you're not used to the high altitude. And remember, never do exertion on the first day or two after arrival in a place of much higher altitude than you're used to.
I short it one star only in comparing it with other attractions in the area, and because of the difficulty due to high altitude. Basically it's a vista. And a religious thing, if you're religious, as there are the "stations of the cross" designated along the trail up, and religious...
