I ended up staying here last minute just for one night as I couldn’t keep going onwards to Peru as I was quite unwell. Thought it was a really great place, they were very welcoming and the design of the place is quite quirky and cool. I was thankful I could check in a bit earlier to lie down and check out a bit later for a small fee. I loved all of the murals on the walls and in my room. Having free bananas and coca tea was a nice touch. I didn’t end up paying for the breakfast as I was still quite queasy so can’t comment on that. The bathroom was clean and I appreciated the rarity of having the water not go everywhere on the floor as it’s built into the ground a little, unfortunately I didn’t get it to become too hot and when I turned the knob for more water I did get a little shock. But all in all I thought the room and service excellent. Loved the colour scheme of the room and my view to the llama next door and the lake. It is nice and close to the main strip of shops/cafes/restaurants and tour operators. Also not far to walk to/from the bus station or the boats from Isla del sol. Would happily stay...

We stayed in this hotel two times before and after hiking the Isla del Sol. I rated this as being an excellent hotel after our first stay because of the great location between bus station and the port and very close to the center, one of the best breakfasts we had while travelling, the warm room and the hot shower. All this made this hotel an excellent choice and there was nothing to complain about. |However, now after having stayed there a second time I think even more highly of Hotel Utama because they went out of their ways to assist me when I had forgotten my EBook reader in the hotel room. They found it after I had checked out and managed to send it by bus to La Paz where I was staying then. This involved countless phone calls with the hotel in La Paz because it wasn't easy to deal with the bus company. |All in all, this is an excellent hotel that offers great value for money. And if you should have any problem you can definitely...

Clean and comfortable room with a private bathroom. Breakfast was 30 bob per person and included juice, tea, coffee, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, pancake, bread, egg, cheese and ham. Portions could have been a little bigger but for the price it was fair. The laundry service was excellent, we dropped off a full bag of clothes in the morning and got it back in the evening. The clothes are dried outside so if the weather is bad don't expect a quick turn around. Only negative was the shower. The fuse switch for the electric shower is outside the shower and needs to be on to get hot water. However, if you turn the shower dial whilst the switch is on it gives off a small electric shock. So you need to turn the shower dial first (there is only one) and then turn on the outside switch. When getting out turn off the outside switch first. This may have only been our room but it is worth mentioning. Apart from the shower I was very happy with the hotel.

We were 'stuck' in Copacabana due to blockades in Peru. This is a budget hotel and perhaps a little dated but good value for money, located in the best part of town. We stayed in the family room right next to the garden. Comfortable beds, good wi-fi, hot showers and heating. The family who run the place are very accommodating. My kids LOVED feeding the many pet rabbits. There are pet llamas and great coffee/ views in the hotel next door too. Actually plenty to do in Copacabana -from the magnificent blessing of the cars spectacular to climbing the mountain behind the hotel for great views and religious offerings. Lots of fun inflatable rides on the beach and don't miss the markets in town for cheap, tasty local food. Just avoid the tourist trap places on the main drag and dig a little deeper.
