It's just an OK park, in my opinion, and I wouldn't advise anyone to make a specific trip to visit it unless you're staying nearby. Though if you're heading in the direction of it, then it's worth a quick look...or stop and rest on one of the many benches for a rest (or bring some food & drink). Upon my visit, the fountain pond was empty, which was a little disappointing. Scattered around the park are many statues to look at. Unfortunately, the information on their plaques are in Bulgarian with no English translations available. There are a few flower beds within the park, but nothing overwhelming. Plus, there's also a small circular building that looks to be some type of library or book exchange (though I'm unsure). One big positive is that the park is largely untouched...
Read moreOne of the most beautiful parks in the city center is this park. It is located in the heart of the city, close to the pedestrian street Vitoshka and the Rotonda and St. Sunday churches. The park has many trees and flowers, and the beautiful setting is complemented by the fountain and the beautiful architecture of the Ivan Vazov National Theater. Here you can often meet musicians who create a great atmosphere in the park and cheer up the visitors. The park is beautiful both during the day and at night, so I recommend visiting it at different times of the day. Read moreThe winter bazar and summer events make this place. Like literally! Evenings of the summer months can be wonderful and the small gangs around are mostly intelligent. You can always occupy a bench and observe them. The music playground is charming and pretty entertaining for small children ... For never growing ones as well. Dear parents, it's a small playground. Not an amusement park. You can find donuts, ice-cream and popcorn stands during summer as well. That's one of the historical places in the capital where you can always spend you evenings...
