The location of this small hotel is superb, right on the main pedestrian boulevard. Easy access to tourist sites and restaurants and cafes. We had two different types of rooms; the first was quite large, but very dim and dark, several light bulbs were out,.Sort of high fashion, but zero function. There was a desk with no lighting on it to work, no place to plug in devices, the shower leaked in a big way all over the floor, not enough ttowels. Would only give us one key "because they often aren't returned". Lobby is tiny, utilitarian only. The second room was much smaller; again, the desk had no light above it or on it where one could work. No place to plug in devices, not even a location for one suitcase, let alone two that two people travel with. Didn't eat breakfast as it was too expensive and there are lots of good cafes nearby with excellent espressos and pastries. Would not...
Read moreGreat central location but the room was tired and dark with poor sound proofing so not good for noise sensitive. It also advertises room service but there is none.|I arrived late the first night then was feeling a bit below par so after a long day sightseeing decided to stay as had an early start for a long hike the next day. there is a restaurant connected but as no room|Service I had some snacks from the minibar. I couldn’t work out the triple remotes for some tv news. |the air con machine was very noisy and I was in a room by the lift so the lift /guest traffic noise plus cleaners talking right outside the room meant I just didn’t get the relaxing, quiet hotel room experience I hoped for. there’s a tiny reception with different people on the whole time who seemed nice enough but I would say this is 2/3* hotel. the free Sofia walking tour is really...
Read moreThis is a beautiful hotel with beautiful rooms. It makes a welcome change from the normal dreary chain hotel rooms that I have frequented. The decor is fresh and interesting, with different room designs with stylish interiors. The design is an acquired taste, this is a Boutique Hotel and you should realise this before you book. If you just want a plain (boring) hotel, then this might not be for you. The only detraction was the (free/included) breakfast. I am not familiar with Bulgarian food but I found the buffet breakfast to have a limited selection (cold meats/cheeses, cereal, some pastries) and I guess the pastries were bought in, as they didnt taste very fresh. There was an á la carte menu, but I was in a rush so didnt have time to order. I have visited this hotel twice now, and will be staying the next time I have a visit to Sofia. I...
