I'm giving this 4 stars thanks to the staff who were extremely polite and helpful.
We went there on March 3rd and the weather was overall cold. So they had the glass windows up (seems like in warmer temperatures, windows can be taken off and there is a terrace). Issue is that there is a column in the middle. So if you stand on the right side of the room, the column is going to get in the middle of the show. Also the connections between individual windows were a bit distracting to me as well
The furniture is not new or anything fancy, but it does the job.
To me the outstanding thing was the audio. It was very high quality and it almost sounded like we were there. I guess being in a room without any background noise (unlike being outside) and a high quality audio system makes a big difference. Also, lights in the room would go off so you can focus entirely on the show. Not sure if they turned streeght lights off outside and if that's a plus of the VIP room as well.
The price when we went in 2022 is 20lv and that might be a bit steep, but I see it more as a donation to the Tsarevets fortress rather than expecting to receive something that equals those money.
We joked that it would be great if they offered glasses of wine as well, I think they would go great...
Read moreI went to Veliko Tarnovo just to catch this show, and the city is truly breathtaking—left me in awe and gave me chills. The show started at 9 PM, but people were already waiting about 30 minutes before. It was packed! Just a note: the show isn’t actually inside the Tsarevets Fortress but rather here, at the VIP Hall and Room for Sound and Light.
The gates opened a bit late, about 10 minutes after 9 PM. The ticket price for this show is 30 BGN per person, which is a bit pricey for a show that isn’t very long, but it’s definitely worth seeing at least once in a lifetime. It would be even better if the surrounding building lights could be turned off, so the light show would appear more vivid from a distance, and the sound would be clearer. You’ll get seats, and it’s a bit of a scramble with other viewers, but if you’re lucky, you’ll get the front row like I did—THE BEST VIEW!
Tickets sell out fast, so make sure to book this show if you’re in Veliko Tarnovo, especially if it’s your first time...
Read moreLoved seeing the show from a higher point than the square below. It's definitely more enjoyable. However, a few things were poor: Website is horrible and buying tickets is a pain. You can buy tickets at the tourist center, but it closes a few hours before the shows start and is located on the other side of the center. There is no information at the place itself that can help you, either. Tickets were "sold out" online so we waited for the doors to open 15min prior and were able to get a last minute seat. It was not clear on the site that you can do that. They made people with prebooked tickets wait while we buy our last minute tickets. It did not seem fair. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Chairs are loose so it was chaotic both sitting down, and leaving afterward. The announcer spoke super quietly and could not be heard far. There were blinding lights in our faces before the show which could have been dimmed a little. Enjoyed the show a lot, but the site operations...
