Boliari Hotel — Hotel in Veliko Tarnovo

Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights here 27 August 2023. Arrived in the early hours as informed. Staff were excellent.|Got to the rooms:|Room 1, all sheets and covers were stained. Net curtains were brown with dirt. Flodded bathroom floor drain. Damp and mould throughout the bathroom. Smelly air conditioning. 1 working light bulb for the room and wnsuite.|Room 2, all sheets and covers were stained. Flodded bathroom floor drain following shower. Blocked sink. Damp and mould throughout the bathroom. Net curtains were brown with dirt.|Air conditioner dripped all night disturbing sleep. Filled half a bucket in 5 hours of use.|Complained to the shft manager and stated we were not staying another night and want a refund for the 2nd night. Told that they have no authorisation to issue the refund for the second night and would speak to rhw owner about this. The manager agreed all issues were unacceptable and we would be called by the owner that day. No calls back. We called the hotel late in the afternoon and spoke to a man whom agreed the issues we had complained about that morning but stated the owner was not available.||We will now cancel the transaction with the credit card company which means they will also lose the payment we were prepared to make for the first night....I would strongly recommend you do not use this hotel.|Unfortunately I can't post the videos we have to demonstrate the issues.|Real shame I have had to do this review as the staff and location...

Its Location is in the heart of Veliko Tornovo which is fantastic as it gives you flexibility and everything is a walking distance from the hotel. The staff were friendly and nice but borderline helpless when it comes to assisting with hotel facilities that were not up to the standard. The rooms are old, not well looked after but liveable, especially for the price. The ceiling was dripping water 💧 when it rained and it resulted in us being wet as we were in bed. The Jacuzi wasn’t working and the sauna needed to be heated for 40 minutes before use. Nevertheless, cleanness and tidiness was good! They kept it neat for guests. They had great coffee that they did not charge for. Be careful if you are driving there, It’s not safe to park around there as (see in photos) someone slashed my tires and broke the handles for my front bumper. It was done on purpose for absolutely no reason (Maybe I parked in someone’s unofficial place?!). The hotel staff assisted in changing into my spare tire 🛞 ofc, against a cost :))) nothing is for free. Overall, I paid 100 euros for 3 nights which didn’t prompt me to have higher expectations.
