Fantastic little hidden gem in the middle of Airdrie. This is a 1/8th scale model train where rides are a very modest cost. It is meant to simulate the trip from Airdire to Vancouver by train, but with less tunnels. As our engineer put it at the 1/8th scale there would be over 500m of tunnels which is too dark. :)
We drove out from Calgary to check out this spot. The engineers are incredibly friendly and will share all kinds of information if you're at all interested. We learned a bit about some of the trees, different styles of trains, construction and maintenance of the model trains, and more.
We will be back and I would encourage anyone with small kids or who are themselves interested in trains and model trains to go and check it out. From the sounds of it they have lots of plans for this place, just need time and money. I look forward to seeing it progress even further.

Read moreJust had our sons first birthday here on a rainy day. Paid a lot. Im super impressed with the volunteers they made us feel welcome abd trued to make the best of a cold rainy day! My guests and i ended up having a great time so i give that a 5*. BUT theres a super rude lady i wont say her nane. Was not friendly or kind. I paid $175 for today and she didnt explain or help me or my guests with directing to where the room was or washrooms etc. We were all waiting for the train in the cold and were held back because she didnt deposit my etransfer nor did she give me our tickets so our train was given to others and we waited longer....didnt apologize or anything. Ruined the good vibe of the place. My guests and i were not impressed with her at all. For this reason it was not worth the $175 and my guests and i will not do birthdays etc here due to her. Just a heads up for future...
Read moreFirst visit today and both my girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We are in our 40s and still had a great time. Seeing all the families enjoying themselves was really nice. You can wander the grounds and see everything they have to offer. The wooden play train on the hill for the kids is really well done but simple and safe for the young ones. Most of them playing on it weren't even paying attention to the model trains going by on either side.
We will be back and I will also be joining as I have some live steam engines I inherited from my grandfather that should fit on the smaller track.
This park is a work in progress but has really come a long way from the images currently available on Google Earth. Well done to all the members and volunteers of...
