McLean Community Centre — Attraction in Ajax

The place is clean, staff are friendly but the lifeguards are way to strict and need further training on assessing situations. A Karen complained about my kids 3 times saying my kids are harassing her and her daughter by getting in their way. This is a public swimming pool. I was right there in the pool with my kids. The lifeguards are witnessing everything and still listening to her complaints and still coming up to me to express her complaints. There is no sealed off section for a family. Everyone has to share the space. This was a completely empty pool by the way, maybe 3 families max in the pool. And this woman, with all the space in the world and with my kids all the way on the other side being policed by their father still complains and the lifeguards still express her concern. Anyways, super uncomfortable and unnecessary. She's clearly has some issues and should have been asked to leave. I felt extremely uncomfortable and my kids got super sad.

If you're seeing we are not harassing or in her way and that this is a public pool you should have asked her to leave the second time you approached me. What would that lady have done if the pool was rammed to gills with kids and families jumping all...

The McLean Community Centre in Ajax is a comprehensive facility offering a wide range of services and amenities for all ages. It features rental spaces such as the Community Hall and Community Rooms, a Fitness & Health Centre, a fully equipped fitness room, and a gymnasium. The centre also boasts a 25-metre indoor leisure pool, a tot pool, a 170-foot water slide, a sauna, a hot tub, and well-maintained change rooms.

Additionally, the facility includes a Preschool Room, a dedicated Youth Space, and serves as the home of the Community Art Exhibition and the Ajax McLean Library Branch. Outdoors, visitors can enjoy a skateboard park, a splash pad, a fenced dog park, and baseball diamonds.

The space is well-maintained and offers a welcoming environment for sports, relaxation, and community activities. While some services require a monthly or annual membership, they are well worth it due to their excellent quality...

I find that this facility is ok for the use of the weight room. However, the lack of access to the other facilities for members is absolutely atrocious.

For members, the only access time to the basketball court for instance is 7-9 am on the weekdays, and 1-3 pm on Tuesday's. For most that work full-time and 9-5 on the weekdays, that is completely unacceptable.

I don't know what department is responsible for the scheduling of member access to facilities such as the basketball court, but that department should be reevaluated, and take a long look in the mirror. I would even venture to say that the job they've done to allow members access to other facilities other than the weight room, is laughable at best. A complete and utter failure of the entire mclean's scheduling staff.

And then they wonder why people keep leaving their facility for GoodLife...
