Lake Louise, located in Banff National Park, Canada, is famous for its striking turquoise waters and surrounding mountain peaks. It’s often referred to as one of the most picturesque lakes in the world.

Hiking: The area offers numerous trails, including the Lake Agnes Trail and the Plain of Six Glaciers, providing stunning views and access to teahouses. •Canoeing: Visitors can rent canoes to paddle on the lake, taking in the breathtaking scenery from the water. •Wildlife Viewing: The surrounding area is rich in wildlife, including bears, elk, and various bird species. •Winter: •Ice Skating: The lake freezes over, allowing for scenic ice skating against the backdrop of the mountains. •Skiing: Nearby ski resorts, such as Lake Louise Ski Resort, provide excellent skiing and snowboarding opportunities.

The lake is famous for its vivid turquoise color, caused by glacial silt. The stunning backdrop of the Canadian Rockies, including the iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, makes it a popular spot for photographers and nature lovers.

The area is well-equipped for tourists, featuring hotels, restaurants, and visitor centers. The Fairmont Chateau offers luxury accommodations, while there are also more budget-friendly options nearby.

As a part of Banff National Park, Lake Louise emphasizes conservation and responsible tourism. Visitors are encouraged to respect wildlife and follow park guidelines to preserve the natural beauty. Lake Louise is a breathtaking destination that offers year-round activities and stunning natural beauty. Whether you’re hiking in the summer or enjoying winter sports, it’s a must-visit for anyone exploring the...

I would give the hike a 1 star only because the information listed on the Parks Canada website was incorrect. It’s listed as 100 meter elevation gain 1km one way easy hike.

The hike is actually 1.6km one way, 140 meters elevation gain and quite steep so you should use hiking shoes for the downhill. I saw lots of people struggling and families with young children leaving behind strollers mid hike.

The view is only trees until you get to the top where there is a small lookout giving a unique view of Lake Louise, while it is beautiful it does not compare to the view from the bottom.

It’s an okay hike if you’re looking for a workout but there are better hiking options...

A great little hike away from the masses!

I could see this being challenging for those not equipped for a steep hike, but if you’re prepared, it’s a great workout with an amazing pay off.

We had walked out onto the frozen lake but had wanted to do a hike, so we went looking for some trails around the lake and found this one.

The view from the lookout was spectacular, even with the ice and snow. We had some sandwiches at the top and a raven joined us in a tree - which was pretty magical and fun!

If you’re doing this hike in the winter, I recommend proper footwear or the addition of crampons to your boots! I had mine on and I didn’t...

Beautiful places in Canada that you DON’T need to hike to🇨🇦👇🏻 As much as I love hiking, I want to make sure my posts are accessible to everyone. I know not everyone is physically able to hike, or it may just be your preference not to…if so this is for you👇🏻 1) Waterfowls Lake, Banff National Park - a road side pull inn along the Icefields Parkway, I think this is one of the most underrated lakes in Canada and it’s accessible for everyone! 2) Lake Louise, Banff National Park - you can view lake Louise shore just a minute from the carpark. There are so epic hikes here but it’s also easy for anyone to see, if you fancy treating yourself the view from the Fairmont for lunch is incredible! 3) Sulphur Mountain, Banff National Park - get the Banff Gondola to the top for incredible views, I recommend enjoying the view from Sky Bistro. 4) Moraine Lake, Banff National Park - make sure to prebook your shuttle but this iconic lake is enjoyed as soon as the shuttle arrives. For the ‘famous’ view in this video you have to walk up some fallen rocks but it’s short and easy to reach this view and if not you can still admire it from the shoreline. 5) Takkakaw Falls, Yoho National Park - this amazing waterfall you can see from the carpark, walk a few minutes towards the falls and you will get an up close view like in this video. 6) Lake O Hara, Yoho National Park - the shuttle takes you right down to the lake shore and there is a coffee shop where you can grab a drink to enjoy at the lake. But FYI it’s a very sought after shuttle to reserve so you need to book far in advance. 7) Bow Lake, Banff National Park - one of the first stops along the icefield parkway starting in Banff, you can see it and it’s glacier from along the road or stop off to view it closer. 8) The Whistlers, Jasper National Park - get the Jasper skytram to the top for incredible views over Jasper. 9) Sunwapta Falls, Jasper National Park - this waterfall is right next to the carpark! 10) Drive the Ice Fields Parkway - voted one of the most scenic roads in the world, this drive is an experience in itself. 11) Athabasca Falls, Jasper National Park - another waterfall near the carpark.
