Barrie Waterfront Heritage Trail - Kempenfelt Bay We hiked around Kempenfelt Bay in the summer and in freezing weather in January. In summer, it is busy what with people hiking around the bay, launching their boats at the launch pad and taking in the beautiful park around the bay. In winter, you can see ice fishing tents as far as the eye can see. Glad to know the city is investing in upgrading this gem in Lake Simcoe.

A paved upper and lower path along the Barrie waterfront. Sometimes it can be overrun with Goose poop which detracts from its appeal. There are benches and wooden lounge chairs to take in the view. There is a boat launch with parking starting at around $10 for the day. I would advise to not even consider the floating Deathtrap called SplashOn.

Barrie Waterfront Trail is a picturesque gem. This 6.7-kilometer pathway offers stunning lake views, perfect for a leisurely walk or bike ride. The well-maintained trail takes you through parks, beaches, and marinas, making it an ideal spot for families, couples, or solo explorers. The scenic beauty is unmatched, especially during sunsets. However, it can get crowded on weekends. Despite that, the serenity of the lake and the variety of activities available along the trail make it a must-visit. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, the Barrie Waterfront Trail offers a tranquil escape...

At a total of almost 14km, Barrie’s waterfront trail is a great one for a variety of activities like walking, jogging, biking, and exercising your dog (must be on a leash and in control at all times). The trail is very well maintained and is safe. Washrooms are available May-October at the SouthShore Centre, Centennial Beach, Heritage Park, and...
