I want to preface this review by saying I have been a loyal Sephora customer before Sephora was EVER in Barrie, Gerogian mall AND Park Place. When I lived in YEG I was at the WEM location all the time. I’ve been a beauty insider for over a decade and every year I spend more than enough money to be a VIB rouge member, as I’m sure many others do too.
Upon entering the store today I was ignored which is normal at this location and totally fine with me, although a welcoming hello is always nice to hear. Well, after about 20 minutes I walked out because I felt completely uncomfortable having the security guard pace around me multiple times while I’m in one spot where I’m looking up products and texting my husband who is in the car waiting for me about how profiled I feel. Multiple associates asked if I needed help and I politely declined. For someone who has adhd and autism I would rather do my own lookups and research on the app without stumbling on my words or having to look salespeople in the eyes while I’m trying to shop as I’m sure other people are in the same situation as me. This is one of the main reasons people would rather purchase online than in store... the security guard wasn’t even around when I first walked into the store and the store was somewhat empty at the time I was there.
I will be the first person to understand that theft has increased but I’m most certainly the wrong person for a store to keep watch on. I’ll continue to just order online and just return in store like I have in the past.

Read moreThis was the most horrible shopping experience I’ve had, I would like to start by saying I was very excited for this new store to open considering there are none close by, I’m a very loyal Sephora costumer and I shop at Sephora every week I came in today to buy some new makeup and the employees basically harassed me, they followed me the entire time I was there giving me disgusting looks and making me feel very uncomfortable anytime I would grab an item they would double look to make sure I wasn’t stealing I could tell they thought my intention was to steal from the store but I tried my best not to acknowledge it and continue shopping, the continued to give me horrible looks and follow me around the store although at this point I wanted to leave the store and just go somewhere else I paid for my makeup and left as I was walking out the three employees who were following me and staring at me were all standing together talking about theft in the store and staring at me as I walked out (clearly to make me more uncomfortable) I turned around to get another look to see if this was really happening to me and the look they gave me made me never want to enter that store again. Please do something about this no costumer (especially a loyal costumer who buys AND PAYS for product so often) should have to go through this.
