This is baaaaaad. One star for a friendly cashier, but that’s it. We went there 5:30 pm on Saturday night. Probably it was busy time for them however... Wait time: 45 min. I think they might have forgotten about us until I spoke up. The restaurant: casual. Clean. But half of forks and knives that were already set up on the table were dirty. Price: not worth $29 for chicken souvlaki dinner and kids meal (two chicken strips and French fries) Taste: I’m sure there are a lot of different versions of Greek, but it wasn’t something I expected from any restaurant... Chicken souvlaki - too salty. No flavour of “grilling”. Inside of chicken was pink ( it was almost cooked). No flavour of herbs although there were massive herb-like pieces all over the chicken. Greek rice - it was ok if the salty tomato sauce wasn’t on it. Again, no additional flavour other than chicken broth on rice it’s self. Greek potato - again, no flavour other than chicken broth and salt. No lemon, garlic, olive oil, or any herbs. Massive amount of salty tomato sauce covering all over the potato destroyed every bits of goodness (if there were any). Salad - the tomato slices were mushy as if it was out in the open area for more than a half day. No freshness. Feta chees were too dry and gathering of tiny pieces like a size of dry rice. I did not have courage to try dressing. Chicken strips - it must have been cooked “frozen strips” from a package. They were that uniform. Yet, it was the best part of whole meal. French fry - dry and old. Probably cut up from real potatoes. But visible greyish parts of meat of potato and black indentations on the skins... that tells me no careful triming was done prior to...
Read moreI have visited this Mr. Greek location on several occasions, but the same issues persist. The waiting times are typically between 20 to 30 minutes, even for a simple wrap or salad. Additionally, they frequently forget to include the sauces whether it’s the tzatziki, which is charged extra or requested on the side, or the dressing that comes with the salad. This has become such a recurring problem that i've heard people often advise each other to double-check their orders before leaving, as “they always forget the dip or dressing”. It has become so commonplace that the oversight no longer feels accidental, especially since the bag is often sealed, meaning these items may not be noticed until you reach your vehicle, home, or if you’ve ordered through a delivery service like Skip or Uber in which case, they rarely include the missing items.
It is quite frustrating to spend a considerable amount of money and still have to remind them about basic inclusions that are part of the meal or paid extra for. Furthermore, lately the portion sizes have been smaller especially the kids meals, the chicken is often dry, and the overall food quality does not seem to justify the high prices.
Until the establishment addresses the ongoing issues with order accuracy, missing items and quality , I cannot recommend this location.. it simply isn’t worth the...
Read moreWorst, service of all times. We ordered three chicken dinners with rice, potatoes and Greek salads. Being a long time visitor of Mr. GREEK IN TORONTO locations we have come to expect quality delicious food. Sadly, this was not the case.
The salads were frozen. I have never had frozen lettuce before but I did at Mr. GREEK IN Barrie. The food had either been contaminated with salt, or had been seasoned far too heavey with salt. And over all quality was below the usual standard we've come to expect.
The following day my mother called to complain. A female who shared she was the owner took her call. My mother ahar d the story I've written above, and was told she was lying. The only part the owner accepted as being truthful was the salads were frozen because of a fault in the fridge. Causing it to cool to low. She offered to refund the salads but nit the meal. She called my mother Sir several times in the conversation, and humiliated her. My mother sounds like a woman and informed her of her gender pronoun identifier.
Long story short we will take this complaint to head office as this was the most degrading experience weve ever paid to be part of.
