We have kids age 10-22. Fun was had by all. The games are priced at what you'd expect for arcades. It's not something we can afford for our family to do outside special occasions, but for my son's bday, we aren't disappointed with what we spent. The food was good and priced at average restaurant range. Service unfortunately had room for improvement. The worker in the VR area seemed like they really didn't want to be there and didn't crack even a slight smile the whole time (which was about 40 mins to get things set up, cleaned, and on). This person was moving so slow for everything. Anyone with OCD or strong work ethics cannot watch this person work as obvious efficiencies are being missed. Our youngest was set up first, so she had all that gear on the whole time with her eyes covered. Then when the game started, my sister's battery pack or something fell off and play was interrupted while the worker slowly but steadily got her back online...but no "do over" or restarting after all that set up and wait - for 5 mins of play. But my kids left smiling and we all laughed during. We had a really nice server for our meal, but coffee took 45-60 mins. They realized when they dropped off the food and mentioned it was coming, like they didn't forget. I still had to ask again 15mins later for my spouse's coffee, and the server said it's an old machine, and it takes that long. That felt elaborated- could be an old machine, can take long, but that long? Seems like they forgot twice. I still dont know when the coffee came because i left to bring my daughter to play since she had been done her meal a while. The atmosphere is right where you'd expect for an arcade. I only rated low because the highly intoxicated individuals hanging around The Shack swearing, dropping f-bombs, and loud, very inappropriate talk for a family zone. The server behind the counter seemed to encourage the behaviour laughing with them and even leaning across the counter to hug one. I'm assuming the server took smart serve, but definitely forgot some guidelines (re:over service) that night. My daughter and I also had a 2 separate drunk individuals reach out and pretend to dance with us on the way back from the bathroom before that. So my suggestion ...Go. Have fun, but if you have younger ones, or people you don't want exposed to the bar scene, leave before 8pm or avoid the bar zones. We were there 6-10pm. Oh, and bring your own sanitizer! This wasn't meant to be a bad review. Overall, we had fun, and were in a good mood even through those hiccups. But just sharing our experience. I hope you have fun there and try the...
Read moreTonight, my partner, friend and I spent the evening at the REC room. I can confidently say I am very underwhelmed and quite dissapointed.
To begin we felt the food was subpar both from the shed as well as at the three 10. I had the rainbow bowl which lacked flavour and was not improved by the loads of salt and pepper I tried to add on to make it better. My friend had the calamari and ceaser salad. The calamari also lacked flavour. The ceaser salad was unpalatable.
When we went to the shed (little snack bar area) the first order came within an appropriate time period. We had ordered the poutine and Mexican corn dogs. The poutine was overwhelming salty, while the corn dogs where quite literally pogo sticks (unsure if the mexican comes from the chives and onions on top). For the price these items were listed at they were not good at all.
My friend ordered the chicken and waffle fries. She placed her order at 1142pm. We waited a half hour thinking Maybe they were busy or had gotten backed up. I appraoched the desk to ask at 1215 am. When the bartender was approached she said she would check in back. Upon her return she stated she didn't know what happened. She offered no explanation. She said they would start making them now. When I asked how long that would be her reply was I'm not sure it's my second day. I was then forced to prompt her to go ask the kitchen as I was not willing to wait another 15 or 20 minutes. She informed me it would take 6 minutes.
10 minutes later the food still had not arrived. I went over to the three 10 bartender inquiring about the manager. However I was met with another bartender.I explained the situation to her and asked her for a refund. She took the receipt and went into the kitchen. Several minutes later the first attendant appeared with 2 orders. When I asked about where the other bartender went as to get a refund I was told in a rude and non-challant manner here just take this extra order.
Whilst this occurred the shed bartender continued to talk and flirt with the several other young men in front of her while not seemingly caring about ensuring all of her customers were satisfied.
Overall, the lack of professionalism demonstrated by the staff (whether or not they are new or not) was not acceptable. Additionally the food overall was terrible. I am usually not a person who writes emails, leaves google reviews or complains but I do feel that tonight there were many things that could have been rectified by the staff.
On the positive note the arcade games and bowling was great and we had a fun night up until...
Read moreThe best part of this location was the food that we were able to get. Disappointingly, there was no pizza available to order (they offer 6 different types on the menu). The service at the restaurant was fine, nothing special. After that it went downhill.
My partner and I came here for a date night and were pretty disappointed in the end. We wanted to go bowling after eating dinner, and were told to buy tokens to pay for the bowling. So we went to the register and purchased $20 worth of tokens each which was 80 credits + 40 bonus credits since the first woman we spoke with told us that each of us had to pay for our own bowling. After purchasing, she told us that we would have to come back in about 15 minutes for an open lane and that we could go ahead and play games in the meantime. We did that making sure that we each had a minimum of 50 tokens for bowling.
After about 15 minutes, we went back and another couple ahead of us got to go (with the first woman we dealt with) and each scanned their bands to play. We waited another 10 minutes before we noticed a lane was open. A second employee asked what we were there for, and we told her bowling. She saw that a lane was open and asked us to tap our wristbands. I went first and she told me I didn't have enough credits. She said that it was 45 tokens each and I didn't have enough. She said that bonus tokens did not count towards bowling. Something the first lady did not mention to us. She also said that one person has to pay for both bowlers, even though the couple before us each had paid for their own bowling.
The employee said that we needed 90 credits on one wristband to pay for bowling. I looked at the board and was very confused. Even though we went on a Sunday, and the boards (and website) said that from Sunday-Thursday, bowling was 40 credits, she continued to say, "Ya its actually 45 credits even though we know that it says 40 credits." She asked if we wanted to buy more credits so we could go bowling, and we told her no.
The whole ordeal really killed the night for us, so we just used up the credits on games (which there was not a lot of variety of). Once we used them up, we bought the only things we could worth 154 and 350 tickets (a game of dominoes, 4 foam dice, and a...
