It was my son's 10th birthday yesterday (Saturday), the supreme laser tag package was ordered for 10 children. We arrived 30 minutes before the start and when we went to the registration desk, they gave us a room in 15-20 minutes. Since I was with my 4-year-old son as well, after that I didn't have time to set up the table for the children, and at the same time I was setting up the table and meeting the parents with the children invited to the party. At this time they came up to me and said that we have 5 minutes before the start of Laser Tag, since they were in a hurry, they started the quest without two children (guests), who missed more than half of the first quest because of this upon arrival, then I asked whether kids would be busy the whole time or whether they needed to add something so that the children would be busy with something until the end of the party, to which they answered that you can add trampolines to the price for each child, but they will be able to start not when they finish the quest, but at a time after the end of the party, to which I refused, but after the second quest in Laser Tag the children had almost 45 minutes of free time and I did not know what to do with them faster and bought them cards for playing machines (one for each for $ 20) each child spent for 10 minutes, to which I asked to set them time for the trampoline, they could not allocate time right away and the time was moved another 15 minutes later after the end, the parents of the children agreed to wait, but since there was nothing to do with the children except food in the room, there was nothing to do, so they then mixed it up and gave us the laser again and I had to figure it out and explain that we wanted a trampoline. My youngest son is 4 years old and he didn't play laser tag, but they couldn't change his laser tag game to trampolines instead and the child just ran around the gaming machines, when I paid for the trampolines they still couldn't let him in early, …and at the end of the time they aggressively kicked out a small 4 year old child instead of offering me to simply extend the time, the child was hysterical and I asked to extend the time but they were only able to extend it after 15 minutes. In the end, I understand that each establishment has its own rules and customs, but I, a parent who wanted to celebrate my 10-year-old son's birthday, should not have to go through 7 circles of Hell and spend more than $700 on a party so that the children would be busy for all 105 minutes, although the package itself cost $299 for 1 hour and 45 minutes, while the children played Laser Tag twice for 20 minutes and the children ate cake and pizza for 20 minutes, for 45 minutes I looked for something for them to do on my own initiative because there was nothing to do with them! And the aggressive attitude of the staff towards 4-year-old children is terrible! One star only because the children left happy, but after spending $700 and my patience! We will not go back...
Read moreIf safety of your the only Child is important for your family I would highly recommend to avoid this place. My son has punctured his toe with a jewelry accent someone left on the mat. It was incredibly painful and although the staff member has helped, by bringing the first aid kit, it was an awful feeling that I didn’t protect my child against someone’s failure to do their work thoroughly. Any attempt to contact the Management - #3 attempts I made myself and 1 with the help of local mass media representative were not successful. This reminds me the example of the “how the management should not be running the business” example during a Strategic Management course. It was a very sad experience, particularly because of the trend which is becoming so popular today: such organizations, at least as their management suppose, are protected by the waivers, us , folks are expected to sign. When signing you, literally, giving up one of your normal rights to ask the playground to be responsible and caring. Think once again, do you really need this? I tried to find the answers to my questions as why there is nothing in waivers about their liability, why there is nothing about restrictions not to bring sharp objects and why I have to remind their young representatives who are forgetting to look around for the safety of kids playing. I didn’t get answers to my questions from management neither when I was asking why we have to walk on dirty surface of the indoor playground in socks while someone was happily surfing in their outdoor boots. I was asking for the compensation and nothing has happened again…. Not only as a former pediatrician, but as a caring father devoted to his family I would highly recommend to think several times before choosing this place. While someone may say it was a small trauma, with all my professional experience I have to confirm that such minor trauma may result in a big surgery. Think of that before bringing your small, the smallest and little bigger loved ones to this place with an absolutely poor management and careless personnel. Of course, I have to be fair, we were given 4 vouchers. Kudos to management, I am not sure why we are expected to come back after what has happened. You really did your best and you lost your customers. As a result, we booked a different place for my kids birthday. I am glad to say we have a really nice places in Barrie where your small kids are not going to be hit by frantically running teenagers and where it is not allowed to bring sharp objects. Such places put safety on the first place as the priority. Last but not least, you can always reach out to Management at that place and they are ready to answer all your questions. Thanks...
Read moreNothing nice to say. Simple back story, first whejni called regarding confirmation. Whoever I was talking to simply didn't care that a family in my party had lost a grandparent and I wouldn't know if they were coming(Apparently pizza is a big deal to organize). So he hung up on me and I had to call back. To be disregarded like that is just rude. Anyways it wasn't a big deal and it was worked out. Now come to yesterday. The snow storm of the year (so far) I called to inform them the party wouldn't be coming. A girl asked for my number and told me she would be calling me back. I didn't offer it. I just asked to discuss "where do we go from here". At exactly 12:42am. I get this email.
Hello We just wanted to reach out, as there may have been some sort of miscommunication on our end. Due to weather conditions we are able to reschedule your party for a different date, or we can keep the $100 on file for you for future play! Please let us know how you would wish to proceed. We appreciate your business.
*It's saddening to hear that you made your employees continue to come in for shifts yesterday even though it was the worst snow storm of the year and the worst we have ever had in a long time. Putting people's lives at risk and expecting them to put other lives at risk puts me in a position to believe you are a horrible business owner. You should be ashamed of yourself. I will make sure everyone in my town is aware of the decision you made for me instead of discussing it. And trust me small towns know everything. I'd like for you to know that I would have wanted my $100 back just like any family struggling would. Businesses like yours are getting ridiculous! But since your priorities are not to care about the safety of staff and others you can keep it. My family and I had a much better day at home having our neighbor friends and there children come by for simple pizza and cake. Oh, by the way they walked because that's how much snow there was in case you didn't notice. And then we finished it off by going tobogganing close to home. Walking again, because that was the safest thing to do. Just incase you didn't get the part where we couldn't drive.
Offering $100 play time, I'm sorry is not worth it. It still takes me gas money to drive and then I have to eat. This is why We( and I mean the customer) make it worth it to drive and have a party somewhere. What kind of people are we if we are putting others at risk. Sorry...
