Cacao 70 Eatery — Restaurant in Barrie

Update: I went today with a colleague and ordered a $7.50 hot chocolate. I received an espresso sides to go cup. We were there well over an hour and were not checked on one single time. Not offered water or asked if we wanted to order anything else. I spent $16 for 2 tiny drinks, that was the last chance. I will not be back. Former: I was disappointed yesterday when I visited for lunch. We were the only table in the restaurant so you’d expect top notch service. Our server did not bring us waters as requested until our food came 30+ minutes after sitting down. He awkwardly stood at the counter looking out into the dining area while waiting for our food to be prepared. Once ready, he brought out one meal and set it down and then brought the next 5 minutes later. Each of us had one sandwich. The one sandwich came with maybe a 1/4 cup of potato wedges, and the waffle sandwich came with nothing. A tiny little sandwich on a large white plate. For $23 I expected more than this. It was very disappointing to say the least. He did not check on us throughout the meal at all, our waters were empty after the first few minutes as they were very small and room temp. We only spoke to him again when we got up and approached the counter to pay ourselves. The flavours were great, but the level of service was not and the portions/costs are a little out...

When you are open for over 6 months and people walk in to a very nice atmosphere but completely empty for the whole hour we were there in prime lunch/brunch time on a sunny Sunday you are definitely not realizing you are doing something wrong. Food is ok but like many commented already, it is very overpriced with tiny portions. $70 for two drinks, two tiny breakfast sandwiches and 1 quarter of a chocolate pizza and ready to go eat something else at the Italian place beside it was not a very good experience. We try to give everyplace in Barrie a chance but don't feel compelled to go back. Many other places with better options in the same plaza. Sad to see this as they have potential. We sat and looked at the prices and ordered but the high price increase our expectations for the food and that definitely was disappointing. Hope they start listening to the customers that are taking their time to help them by giving feedback instead of justifying...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cacao 70 and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and prompt. The highlight of my visit, however, was undoubtedly the food.

I had the waffle sandwich pictured, and it was simply amazing. The waffles were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, creating an ideal balance of textures. The ingredients inside were fresh and flavorful, making each bite a delightful experience. The combination of savory and slightly sweet was well executed, and the presentation was also impressive. The drinks were also amazing and customizable too!

Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic meal coupled with great service. It’s a must-visit for...
