I recently had the pleasure of visiting Centennial Beach, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations on every level. This hidden gem, nestled in the heart of our community, provides a truly exceptional experience for those seeking a perfect blend of relaxation and recreation.

Upon entering Centennial Beach, the pristine surroundings immediately caught my eye. The well-maintained grounds and lush greenery create a serene atmosphere, setting the stage for a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The attention to detail in landscaping and design demonstrates the commitment to maintaining a high standard of aesthetic appeal.

The star attraction, of course, is the magnificent beach area. The impeccably clean sandy shores and crystal-clear waters create an inviting environment for both families and individuals alike. The lifeguards on duty were attentive and professional, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

What truly sets Centennial Beach apart is its family-friendly atmosphere. The designated play areas for children, complete with water features and sandcastle-building zones, kept the younger visitors entertained for hours. Families can relish quality time together while basking in the picturesque surroundings.

For those seeking more active pursuits, the range of amenities at Centennial Beach is impressive. The well-maintained volleyball courts and picnic areas provide ample opportunities for friendly competition and socializing. The rental facilities for paddleboards and kayaks further enhance the recreational options, catering to water enthusiasts of all skill levels.

The cleanliness of the facilities is commendable, with well-maintained restrooms and changing areas. Additionally, the on-site concession stand offers a variety of refreshments, ensuring that visitors can stay energized and hydrated throughout their visit.

Centennial Beach's commitment to environmental sustainability is evident in its eco-friendly initiatives. The use of solar panels and other green technologies showcases a dedication to minimizing its ecological footprint, a factor that resonated positively with me.

In conclusion, Centennial Beach is a true haven for those seeking a perfect blend of relaxation and recreation. The attention to detail in both the aesthetics and functionality of the facility, combined with the warm and welcoming atmosphere, make it a standout destination. Whether you're looking for a peaceful day by the water, a family outing, or an active adventure, Centennial Beach offers a delightful escape that is sure to leave a lasting impression. Highly recommended for locals and...

⭐⭐⭐ Centennial Beach – A Beautiful Spot Undermined by Poor Maintenance Centennial Beach has so much potential. It’s a beautiful, family-friendly location with a fantastic playground that easily accommodates many children, and the inflatable water trampoline park adds a fun and exciting touch for kids and families alike.

However, what truly takes away from the experience—and frankly, what’s unacceptable—is the extremely poor condition of the boardwalk, grassy areas, and most disappointingly, the beach and water itself. Goose droppings are visible throughout the walking paths, around the benches, and even in the water where children swim. It's not just unsightly—it's a clear health and safety concern.

The organization responsible for maintaining this public space is seriously dropping the ball. For a location that charges $10 per hour for parking and $40 for access to the inflatable water park, there should absolutely be regular, visible maintenance efforts to keep this area clean and safe. These are premium prices, and the lack of care shown in maintaining the grounds feels disrespectful to the residents of Barrie and surrounding communities who visit regularly.

There are also no clear signs discouraging people from feeding the seagulls, which has led to aggressive bird behavior that disrupts picnics and outdoor meals.

This review isn’t about nitpicking—it’s about accountability. Centennial Beach is a public asset, and when thousands of dollars are being generated daily, there is no excuse for such neglect. Regular maintenance staff, proper signage, and a basic level of cleanliness should be the standard.

Until these issues are addressed, this will remain a 3-star...

Drove up from Toronto on a hot, humid (37degrees w/humidity) summer day. Arrived just around 1:30pm. There seemed to be lots of parking but the lots were completely full and so was street parking. I was lucky to grab the last street spot. The parking is ridiculously high, I paid almost $40 for 3 hours. Smallish sand area and it was crowded. The swimming area was not that crowded, past the rope, the deeper area. The water was refreshing, clean and clear. No algae or debris, just very tiny amounts. There were lifeguards, and people on paddleboards, which you can rent as well as kayaks, right from the beach. There is a water park as well but booked up so plan ahead, 1-2 weeks and book online! I used the washrooms as I was leaving, around 4:15pm. There are conveniently located. It was obvious that nobody had cleaned them for awhile. Hygienic containers overflowing and water, sand, toilet paper everywhere.. just gross.. decided to wait for family washroom, one was out of order and the other I had to wait 15 minutes for, also inconvenient. They have a snack bar, my kids really wanted ice cream, but they only take cash and kind of pricey, $5.75 for 1 scoop.. I didn't have cash so no ice cream, luckily I brought sandwiches, drinks and some sweets. All in all, 3.5 stars comparing it to other beaches. Mostly due to the price of parking and the washroom issues. Lifeguards are pleasant. Plan ahead and arrive early. I'd say before 12 on a hot summer day. Still a nice...

Centennial Beach in Barrie, Ontario, is definitely one of those spots you'll want to hit up if you're looking for a chill day out with the fam. We headed there recently and had a blast, even though it was a bit on the nippy side. The beach itself is pretty spacious, giving everyone plenty of room to spread out and soak in the views. And let me tell you, the views are worth it! You've got this beautiful stretch of water that just kind of pulls your eyes out to the horizon. Plus, the beach is clean and well-maintained, which is always a plus. Despite the chill, a lot of folks, like us, were out there. Interestingly, many preferred to enjoy the view from the warmth of their cars, parked up with a front-row seat to the lake. Can't really blame them – the wind off the water was brisk, making it a perfect spot for those who wanted to enjoy the outdoors without wandering too far from their heat source. Overall, Centennial Beach is a great pick for anyone looking to relax, catch some scenic views, or just spend some quality outdoor time with loved ones. Whether you're braving the beach on foot or taking it in from your car, it's a spot that invites you to come back, whatever the weather.

Beaches are now open, as of June 12th 2020, without lifeguard on duty. People are respectful of social distancing in general. Restaurants and restrooms near the beaches are all open and maintained very well. With the sandy beach appeal simcoe lake was perfect even with water too cold to soak in completely. A few kids did a full dip on a dare, I guess, and came out shouting 'that wasn't fun' and I completely understand. The marina was open and selling $17 day pass and a 177(?) Seasonal pass. Poster are put everyone to remind people of social distancing and covid 19. A few big boats were idling on the lake. People were soaking in the sun on Speed boats and kayaks too. People and dogs, I must say. Beach was pretty clean with and dog owners were cleaning up after them. However the Geese weren't very good at cleaning up after themselves, but that was only at a very few selective spots. The parking was very close so you don't have to lugg all your beach stuff for a long walk. The restaurants in downtown seemed quite busy with people flocking in. Pie - a wood burnt pizza place right across the beach is promising and worth checking out.

We went here for Canada Day. The place is nice, just weird that the grills are only on the right side and there were like around five double grills. Washrooms were okay, not too bad, there’s also two family washrooms aside from the mens and women’s washrooms. Parking is okay, it was just packed coz of Canada Day. If the parking spaces near the beach are full, you can park at the back of PIE restaurant or pizza place across the 3 Flags or next to two blue buildings for $30 all day (CASH ONLY), you can get cash from the convenience store at the plaza for $3.75 service fee lol Tips when parking at PIE, make sure u drop your stuff off and find a spot at the beach first before parking coz your spot can get taken if your leave your spot after paying to drop your stuff off and set up your spot at the beach even if your already paid and the parking lot is not that big. You can drive out of the parking lot to drop your stuff off but only a few meters away from the parking lot.
