I drove down from Mississauga to do some shopping at Tanger Outlets and was on the hunt for something good to eat when I stumbled across this Caribbean jerk spot. The reviews caught my attention and let me tell you, they didn’t lie. The drive was more than worth it. From the moment I stepped inside, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality by a kind young lady and (who I believe was) the owner. Their energy was so positive and inviting, I knew right away I was in the right place. I couldn’t just try the jerk chicken I had to go all in. I ordered the half jerk chicken AND the curry goat, and to my surprise, the owner blessed me with some dumplings and an absolutely mouthwatering vegetarian curry on the house. Just seeing the food had me hyped but the taste? Even better. I went with the large, and I honestly didn’t think I’d finish it all… but I couldn’t stop. Even after I was full, I was still eating. That’s how insane the flavours were rich spices, bold aromas, and that unmistakable authentic Caribbean kick. This isn’t your average jerk spot. This is the real deal. The food was ready quickly, the vibes were amazing, and the conversation with the owner made it feel like more than just a meal it was an experience. I even told him if they opened a location in Mississauga, I’d be there every single day. If you’re in the area or even if you’re not make the drive. Don’t think twice. This spot is a must-visit for anyone who loves bold, authentic, unforgettable Caribbean food. You’ll thank yourself later.

It was a pleasant surprise to find this Jamaican restaurant in the heart of Barrie while there on a day trip recently, and I must say Caribbean Express is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Jamaican flavors! The food here is absolutely delicious – rich, bold, and made with true island flair. From the perfectly spiced jerk chicken to the flavorful oxtail , every dish bursts with vibrant flavors and clearly uses fresh, high-quality ingredients. The ambiance is fantastic, with a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. The decor and music add to the authentic Caribbean feel, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family. The owner and server were quite pleasant. If you’re in Barrie and looking for a taste of Jamaica, Caribbean Express is the place to go. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Caribbean cuisine or wants to try something new!

Best jerk in barrie. I’ve gone 3 times and it’s always the same 2 nice people working. I have been a fan of jerk chicken , rice / peas and some slaw for years. I used to work all around the GTA and have tried my fair share. This place gets it right. Yes, it’s the right amount of heat and yes, they pour some of the magical jerk gravy on top of the chicken allowing it seep down into the rice below before closing the lid. The medium size is more than enough and I do wish they had sweet plantains but not a deal breaker. Not much seating but right across from a lake view park where you can find a bench. Enjoy!

A hidden gem that I'm thrilled to have found. It's mainly for take out and delivery. Enter from the rear only, which has a tiny balcony and table, overlooking parking and the Bay. First visit - Meal 1- oxtail, rice and peas dinner w coleslaw. Cooked to, and seasoned to perfection, juicy meat falling off the bone, moist enough to still suck the flavorful juice from the bone. Just like homemade! Add a touch of hot sauce if a bit of an extra kick is needed Meal 2- Curry Goat Roti- I like and chose bone in. Still moist and perfectly flavored with just the right amount of kick. Good size portions I cannot wait to reorder from here again. Edit: I've now tried the Jerk Chicken, and am now addicted to it. If you like spice with a kick, this is for...
