Extremely Disappointed â Serious Health & Safety Concerns
Iâm deeply disappointed with the lack of enforcement around hygiene and safety standards at this water park. As a Canadian, itâs disheartening to see companies like this disregard basic public health protocols and the values many of us share.
Allowing people into water attractions while wearing jeans, full street clothes, and t-shirts is unacceptable. Not only is it unhygienic, but it poses serious health and safety risks. The entire area smelled strongly of body odour, and itâs disturbing that people are entering the water in visibly dirty clothingâlikely worn all day in the heat. Proper swim attire should be mandatory. This is a health department concern, and this facility should be formally inspected.
There were also serious safety issues. Multiple guestsâincluding myselfâobserved people being shoved, hit, and held up on slides. Lifeguards were informed but did not intervene. Guests who were clearly afraid of water were allowed to block slides, creating backups in already overcrowded spaces. Overselling tickets and failing to manage crowd flow is dangerous and irresponsible.
If youâve experienced similar issues, I strongly encourage you to report them to the City of Barrie and to raise awareness in local Facebook groups such as âBarrie Families Uniteâ or other trending community chats.
If you or someone you know has been injured due to this parkâs failure to provide a safe environment, I recommend taking legal action. Signing a waiver does not remove their accountabilityâespecially when theyâve been made aware of ongoing risks and choose not to act.
Until these serious issues are addressed, I cannot recommend this park and believe it should be investigated for both public health and...
Read moreSave yourself the pain and money do not sign the waiver. Do not use this attraction or let you kids. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. It is very easy to injure yourself on this attraction because it is such a slippery surface.
I injured myself at this park and was off work for a month costing me $10,000. Hardly worth it for $25.
According to the owner they have only ever had one serious injury which I find hard to believe. Here are two quotes directly from their own legal document " I relinquished their right to sue in the case of injury or death due to an honest mistake or outright negligence by the company or its employees"
and
"I hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Splash On Water Parks Ltd., from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action which are in any way connected with my participation in this activity or my use of Splash On Water Parkâs equipment, or facilities, including any such claims which includes negligent acts or omission of Splash On Water Parks Ltd." So basically we accept no responsibility for our rides even if we are at fault which needs to be repeated twice. No lawyer will help you there is nothing you can do.
I strongly recommend avoiding this park to avoid serious injury to your children or unpaid time off work. Update: Total lost wages to date $10,000 and loss of employment due to my new disability. đŁ also permanent lifelong...
Read moreThe place was so much fun for adults and kids. It may be tough for younger kids less than 8 years old. It was so refreshing of jumping in the clean water of Lake Simcoe. Lots of upper body workouts even for grown-up, as it requires strength to pull ourselves back up onto the bouncy pads. Definitely recommend to wear water shoes, not Crocs or sandals at all for better grips when walking on flat surface of the bouncy pads. Goggles would be good to have too especially when the kids want to swim in the lake. If you want to bring cell phone or wear glasses during the activities, we highly recommend to have strings or tighten them due to the water pressure created when you fall off or slide into the water. In addition, you also need to make sure you get in line earlier than the time slot you pay for. It takes sometimes for the crew to check guests in and the life jackets, etc. The public washrooms can get extremely crowded throughout the day, especially the women's one. There are no separate change rooms at all. Other than, we had a GREAT time! Parking is expensive, and better to park at private lot for $40 for the whole day, than at the Hotspot parking spaces on the side of the roads ($10 per hour), or find spaces where government agencies are as they close on the weekends. Hope that folks won't contaminate the water in Lake Simcoe due to carelessness for not taking a good care of their...
