New to the city, and library. I had issues downloading my document for print (important 2 page document) lady with black hair was very rude. It ended up approaching closing time and I just needed to collect my document from the printer after having all these issues (that lady with shoulder length black hair insisted she came around to help me with BUT DID NOT) And she rushed to turn the printer off, I said I just needed help being new -how do I get these documents out and she said "no I'm not going to be late and turned it off". I don't know if she is a supervisor or what but she was the rudest I have dealt with in a setting like that. Other ladies were not bad but she -horrible. I guess people don't believe in customer service anymore. I had a laptop and didn't want to leave it there to be potentially stolen while trying to figure out how to get my documents printed at the front desk. The least you could do is actually stay around to help people solve their problems they were in the midst of dealing with BEFORE closing time. Read moreMuch like most other library's I've been to in the city, the selection of books is limited- to non existent. If you've been to any library in any town (or literally any other city Library in the province) surrounding the city, you'd understand how dissapointing the city libraries like this one are. With a small selection of books, you will very quickly realize this is more of a Calgary library Ordering hub, than like any actual real library. I've seen towns with less than a thousand people with many, many more books than this library, so if you're someone who likes to browse and check through a catalog, your best bet is to just browse for books at a book store, look up the book you want online, and order it to the location through Calgary public library online. No reason to go in unless you need access to a public printer and computer, but even then Staples has...
Read moreCame in today (Oct 9th) and had a lady speak EXTREMELY rude to myself and the children I was with. I want to say this lady had on pink glasses and a blonde bun (rainbow lanyard with pins), and the other staff have always been very polite, kind and friendly with us.
The children were doing the scavenger hunt set up for them to look around the children’s area to seek out the picture. When the 4 children I was with went to the front desk to ask for a hint this lady shoo’d the children away glared at them saying “No hints, you can go find it yourself there is enough eyes here”. Might I add the library nor the front desk was busy. It is ok to tell the children to keep looking/working on it themselves but they’re is a way to speak to people, and that’s not it! I was honestly sadden by the way we were spoken to and my kids said “that...
