Read moreThis is a beautiful park in the vicinity of downtown, Calgary. It has plenty of trees, grassy ground, benches to enjoy shade or sun, and a paved trail to enjoy walking, jogging, or cycling. The park has a children play ground with lots of equipment to amuse children of diverse interests, and It is always buzzling with children. The park has a city and district cricket league established in 1908, a well-built pitch, net practice area, and a lot of cricketers of different age groups and genders exercising, stretching, running, practicing, or playing tournament matches. The league has many teams, and anyone can join a team and practice or play there. The park is popular for its wadding pool for all ages of people. Currently it is closed to the public. I have never wadded in a pool, so I look forward to visit the park once the pool is made available to the public. Street parking is available on the streets for which you have to pay, but after 6:00 pm and on Sundays, you may park for free. I cannot agree more with one of the reviewers who said this park...
Read moreFeatures like this are found almost only in larger cities. Although many towns will have a splash park, they will not contain any kind of pool generally. This requires a good amount more maintenance which we observed taking place at the time.
This one us about 2-3' deep at most so that there is not too much worry of drowning risks however it is still a pool...
It has a great feature island in the center which makes a for a unique picnic spot and a low fence around the perimeter reducing the directions the little ones can run off from.
There are a lot of other features (parks, paths, shelters, etc.) in the area which are all well maintained.
I did not notice any bathrooms on site however I did not exactly explore anywhere near the entire extent of the park.
All in all, a great location for families to come and spend some time with a unique feature that will not cost you...
