Riley Park in Calgary is a wonderful destination for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages. The park boasts a picturesque setting with lush greenery and well-maintained lawns, making it a perfect spot for picnics, leisurely strolls, or simply enjoying nature.

Families will appreciate the spacious playground area that offers a range of equipment suitable for children of different ages. It's an ideal place for kids to have fun and burn off some energy.

Sports enthusiasts will find plenty to do at Riley Park as well. There are open fields for playing soccer, baseball, or flying kites. Additionally, the park features tennis courts, allowing visitors to enjoy a friendly match with friends or family.

One of the park's highlights is the beautiful wading pool, perfect for cooling off during hot summer days. Parents can relax on the surrounding benches while keeping an eye on their little ones.

Moreover, the park is conveniently located near Kensington, a trendy and vibrant neighborhood with numerous cafes, shops, and restaurants. After a day at Riley Park, visitors can easily explore the nearby area and experience the local charm.

This is a beautiful park in the vicinity of downtown, Calgary. It has plenty of trees, grassy ground, benches to enjoy shade or sun, and a paved trail to enjoy walking, jogging, or cycling. The park has a children play ground with lots of equipment to amuse children of diverse interests, and It is always buzzling with children. The park has a city and district cricket league established in 1908, a well-built pitch, net practice area, and a lot of cricketers of different age groups and genders exercising, stretching, running, practicing, or playing tournament matches. The league has many teams, and anyone can join a team and practice or play there. The park is popular for its wadding pool for all ages of people. Currently it is closed to the public. I have never wadded in a pool, so I look forward to visit the park once the pool is made available to the public. Street parking is available on the streets for which you have to pay, but after 6:00 pm and on Sundays, you may park for free. I cannot agree more with one of the reviewers who said this park...

Features like this are found almost only in larger cities. Although many towns will have a splash park, they will not contain any kind of pool generally. This requires a good amount more maintenance which we observed taking place at the time.

This one us about 2-3' deep at most so that there is not too much worry of drowning risks however it is still a pool...

It has a great feature island in the center which makes a for a unique picnic spot and a low fence around the perimeter reducing the directions the little ones can run off from.

There are a lot of other features (parks, paths, shelters, etc.) in the area which are all well maintained.

I did not notice any bathrooms on site however I did not exactly explore anywhere near the entire extent of the park.

All in all, a great location for families to come and spend some time with a unique feature that will not cost you...

This park is beautiful! It has a large well maintained wading pool, a nice jungle gym park with rubber padding instead of gravel, and a gorgeous rock garden nearby. There are lots of shady spots by the pool to set up blankets. Parking is an issue so come early. The day we came, the pool opened about 40 minutes late at 9:40 but there was still almost no one there. The park has neat drums and an instrument for little kids to play on. I also like that they made a fallen tree a natural feature of the park instead of removing it . In the photo I have attached you can see that the bark has been removed and it is the perfect height for climbing for little kids.

Free access to a wading pool, a cricket pitch, a lovely flower garden, and a playground. It can get pretty busy, and you will need to be aware of the occasional bandaid in the water, but overall a fantastic inner Calgary spot to enjoy a summer day. Highly recommend. When you are done, check out Another Dimension Comics, just across the street. And if you are hungry, Sidewalk Citizen is a minute past AD, a great market/bakery. Aug 7 2022 update: Still awesome. Bring water guns, camping chairs, grub and good company. Now you've got a stew going.
