Not great, guys.
We came here on a Monday morning with a table ready to go thanks to an online waitlist. I ordered the Morning After Breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon. Immediately upon the first bite, I noticed the hashbrowns were not warm. Weird. How long were they sitting out for?
Next, the toast was oddly dry (though it had been toasted) but something was definitely off. And was it buttered? Was it not? There was a little blotch on one of the pieces, I wasn't sure if that was supposed to be butter or a bit of grease from other food items which may have touched it. What's going on here? The bread tasted like it had been sitting out for a few days. Or maybe that was the recipie?
I had to ask my eggs to be recooked so that the eggs weren't runny anymore. What I got back was a we'll-cooked scrambled egg, yes, but this time drenched in so much oil I could have used it to cook another egg. Very very disappointing.
We had several servers stop at our table, and our main help was largely inaudible. When he finally cleared our plates, he never came back to ask us if we wanted anything else or to give us our bill. The couple behind us received service 3 times during this time (also getting their table cleared) while we waited with a empty table before someone stopped by and asked us if we wanted our bill. We're we invisible?
This place was largely disappointing and the food quality is not there. My husband ordered the Brisket Poutine and was also left highly unimpressed.

Sorry guys but stiff competition out there and this does not...
Read moreCame in today for a brunch and was first in awe of the set up and decor of the Bistro. From the lighting, the artwork on the walls, the greenery from the ceiling and the view into the kitchen. The layout was fantastic, and was greeted promptly to just pick a suit in the corner.
I had the braised beef and chorizo, large breakfast, and the two of the friends that I was with both had a Benny one was the braised beef and the other Was the freeze penny excited for the food looked wonderful. Our server was very prompt very polite, knowledgable and very welcoming.
When the food arrived, it looked really hot and fresh and ready and just ready to dig in. The first bite was very cold and I was just like maybe I’ll went deeper into the skillet and tried some of the beef. The braised beef was not soft. it was actually very chewy very dry, and my whole meal was cold
The presentation was beautiful. The flavours were a little off, was surprisingly shocked with the sweetness of the potato and a bit of the seasonings that they had in there not the server of the temperature and quality of my friends eggs were also poached very well, but cold.
The server situation and told that I believe the manager that was also there as well we did we weren’t expecting a discount off the bill. It was just we wanted to give our feedback overall I would say that this would be a good place to go. we are going to give it another chance, but the atmosphere is amazing. The servers are knowledgable friendly they make you laugh and it’s just the overall atmosphere and where you’re eating was fantastic. Will try again for a...
Read moreI tried going to Monki in the past but it was always busy so glad I finally got to try it; and at their new location too!
They just opened a few months ago and the interior and decorations look really nice and modern. There are artwork from local artists on display and a 'green jungle' ceiling in the middle. I especially like the monkeys hanging around the jungle. The space is very bright which gives it a very vibrant feeling.
I ordered the salmon avacado toast and I liked the unique presentation of it as it was very different from other ones I had at other restaurants. There were a lot of avacado on it with cream cheese underneath and plenty of potatoes. My friend got a taco meal which was very interesting with huge portions. I didn't try it but I heard good things about it. Another friend got the Brisket Hash where the egg was just the right amount of runniness and didn't drip too much. There was plenty of meat and it tasted good. Lastly, we shared the french toast which had nutella on top with a lots of bananas in between. It was a good sweet end to a good meal. I believe it was featured on Food Network so it was highly recommended by staff. I was also impressed as I saw that Monki creates their own brand of hot sauce with their very creative logo on it.
The staff and owner was very helpful and friendly so I highly recommend you guys to come check it out. There cool shops in the area as well so you can take a nice...
