Nice spot in Coquitlam in the heart of the Tri Cities area. I happen to live across the street from the Lake so I frequently walk and use the area all the time. The area is easily accessible from the Evergreen Line at the Lafarge Douglas Station located right there, and also bus stops close by as well. Lafarge Lake/Town Center is a nice area with 7 playing fields from Soccer Football Softball Baseball Rugby and Field hockey and a main stadium as well. Around the area is of course Lafarge Lake with a nice walkway around the Lake, and keep your eyes open for Barny the Beaver and his Home...there's a a nice outdoor stage for music and other events as well. The area hosts a big Canada Day celebration with live music and food and things for the kids as well, also a beer garden also. With Canada Day Fireworks to end the evening off shortly after around 10pm. Also other events held there as well Caribbean Days with Food trucks also, And can't forget about the Christmas Lights display during the Holiday season that are displayed all around the Lake. Also the Lake is Stocked with Trout for fishing also.I'm sure I'm forgetting about a few more things,so feel free to comment if I have... Also in the area are Tennis courts BMX track Skateboard park Beach Volleyball play area for kids Swings and climbing area water park and also basketball courts and roller hockey area table tennis tables/ping-pong... There's also a couple Concession Stands one closer to the Stage area and picnic area, and has Rocky Point Ice Cream there as well. And the second Concession Stand is located right in front of the Stadium front Gates. There's also washrooms throughout the area and change rooms as well as washrooms by the main stadium also. Plenty of free parking throughout the area. Also by the Lake is the Evergreen Theater that has a Concession Stand there also. The Theater has some great local performances all the time, which I have gone to a few and was pleasantly pleased with the performances. Evergreen Theater is located right at the Lafarge Douglas Station on the Evergreen Line.

Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam is a gem tucked away in the city. This man-made lake, surrounded by lush greenery and walking trails, offers a perfect escape from urban bustle. The loop around the lake is a pleasant 1.2 kilometers, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll or a jog. One of the highlights here is the vibrant seasonal displays of flowers and foliage that adorn the landscape, making each visit unique and Instagram-worthy. During the summer, you can rent pedal boats and explore the lake, adding a splash of fun to your day. During the holiday season, the park is decorated with Christmas lights and it is a sight to behold. While a lot of places charge an entrance fee for light displays, this place offers a free entry and that is truly commendable. For nature enthusiasts, the lake is a haven for various bird species. Bring your binoculars and spot ducks, geese, and herons among others, adding a touch of tranquility to the atmosphere. Lafarge Lake Park isn't just about the lake; it hosts events and festivals throughout the year, from music concerts to cultural celebrations, ensuring there's always something happening here. Whether you're seeking a peaceful stroll, a place to picnic, or a lively event, Lafarge Lake caters to all, making it a must-visit spot for locals and tourists alike.

Across the street is Douglas college, Pinetree secondary school, and the aquatic center which is always fun. SkyTrains last stop in Coquitlam is Lafarge station.
