My first experience with Praguery was at the Christmas Market stall and it wasn't a pleasant one. I emailed privately expressing my surprise and disappointment as I was very excited for my family to try chimney cake for the first time and felt very let down when it felt like eating flavourless cardboard.
I was pleasantly surprised to hear back from the founder himself, Jaroslav Mestka; he generously offered a gift card along with a sincere apology and to investigate the situation.
That brought my family and I to this storefront and we were genuinely overjoyed by how much BETTER it tasted! We tried the Caramel Pecan and Pistachio soft serve chimney cake cones. In the photo, you can see how fluffy the cake is. They were freshly made to order, plenty flavourful, and soft and chewy. The soft serve was milky and creamy, very silky and tasty!
It meant a lot to us to bring what could've remained a sour memory to a literally sweet one. The two staffs there were friendly and patient as well while they dealt with payment technical issues. As for parking, there are pay parking and 10 minute max free parking options.
I thought it would be the least I could do to write a heartfelt, honest and sincere review when Jaroslav did not need to offer any gift, especially more than I had originally spent. They were delightful...

My favorites: Ham & Cheese Croissant, Basque Cheesecake, Apricot Danish and Candied Pecans.
My son and his wife love the Caprese Foccacia... it's a big portion too.
My hubby says their chocolate ice cream Pint reminds him of the "good old days" when he was a kid, as you can't find them like that anymore. Not even Ben & Jerry's can come close.
My parents fight over the Chimney Cakes and their Cheesecake. They are high-maintenance and can pick apart any restaurant... yet they keep coming to the Praguery!
The Croissants and Danishes are so flaky when you bite into it. No other store-bought or even Starbucks can compare! The Candied Pecans - you can't just have one bite... it just keeps you wanting more! Nice and dry too... unlike sugar soaked ones from the store.
Just so you know, the Ham & Cheese Croissant is so big and filling (I ate it for lunch) and it lasted me past dinner and 4hrs on ice where I was teaching hockey (physically demanding and sweating)!
Prices are comparable to other restaurants and coffee places, considering you don't have to tip a server.
I will continue to spend my $ here as the food tastes AMAZING and everything is HIGH Quality... I am NEVER...
Read moreLet me start by saying I’ve had their chimney cones with soft serve from the truck a few times before and it’s always been good. So I was expecting their new cafe to be great as well. But it really just wasn’t. My boyfriend’s hot chocolate was half whipped cream. I got the orange bliss in a cup but they over filled it with ice cream and it immediately melted into a huge mess and started over flowing over the cup and all onto the counter(and my hands and white sweatshirt). By the time I asked for another empty cup so I could save what I could, I sat down to eat it and more than half of it was already melted. Not what I’d expect from an $8 ice cream. The only decent thing we had was the cheesecake but they just gave you a plastic ramekin of fudge sauce and you have to pour it on yourself, they don’t even put it on for you. Save your money and go across the lake to rocky point ice cream for half the price if you want a treat because unfortunately...
