I went there today to consult about the programs. I am really interested in studying at UBC because I've heard good things from friends. However, the Indian girl at the front desk basically told me to Google everything and insisted on doing things her way, even when I needed to take a photo. When I asked about the graduate program, she didn't know about it, which is fine, but she preferred discovering things on her own instead of answering my questions. Even when her laptop was far away and I asked her to pull it closer in order to review the context on website clearly, she wasn't willing to do so. Everything I needed to know, she told me to Google at home. It makes me question why this department exists if prospective students are expected to find answers online. I left without getting the information I needed, feeling like my time was wasted. Unbelievable.
Furthermore, I feel she is solely pushing me to rush into submitting my applications without addressing my questions. With this kind of experience, why would I want to proceed with the application, especially when I have numerous confusing questions that I expected to get answers to today, but she consistently directed me to Google them myself?
