I unfortunately have to give this business a low review because while my vehicle was parked at their staging location, someone vandalized it by drilling a hole at the bottom of my gas tank to steal the gas in it. While this isn't a reflection on the business, here is why I am disappointed: we were warned on the front end of the trip to not leave any valuables in our vehicles. This I understood, so I left all valuables stored in other places and accounted for it. It wasn't until I returned to my vehicle (while in the huts for a week) that I was told by staff that vehicle vandalization was happening regularly in their staging area. In fact, someone had cut a fuel line the week prior. Another person shared that all her windows got knocked in and then it snowed and rained that week, ruining the interior of her car. No one running the operation gave me any advance notice that this was happening until it was too late. It was a risk that staff/owners knew existed, but did not inform customers on. The owners had installed game cameras with signage around the parking lot, but the memory cards were full and they had no proof. I had to get my truck towed to Golden, and now I am in a battle with insurance that could cost me $1500-$3000 out of pocket. I called GAH many times after my trip to see if the owners would meet me halfway, or offer anything to help ease the blow. I was polite and complimentary of their operation (because I had a blast and would love to go back someday). The owners would not even call me back, they just relayed to their office person that they "don't do that." I'm really bummed to have to leave this poor review, it's not my style at all. I had an awesome trip while I was in the mountains, and their whole system is totally dialed, but I don't think I could ever return knowing the risk I'd take with parking my vehicle. I'm leaving this review so that those considering a trip at least know ahead of time, unlike I did. I'm also sharing this review in hopes that an operation like this with extensive business insurance might better hear out their customers in the future when unfortunate things happen that are out of...
Read moreI recently went on a trip with a group of friends to sentry lodge as Covid would not allow for international travel. It was one of the best experiences and trips I’ve ever done. From the amazing lodge, the beautiful views, relaxing sauna and fun games, it was amazing.
The best part by far was our guide, Dylan Chen. Not only is he a world class adventure guide, but a quality person who took care of everyone’s needs. His knowledge of the area, the trail selections to accommodate the group, his pace to keep everyone comfortable and together and thoughtfulness and attentiveness to every persons individuals needs and weakness made the trip fly by without any hickups.
Don’t get me wrong, the hikes can be challenging but very worth it. Can’t wait to come do it again next year. It was unanimous amount the group that we would follow...
Read moreThe huts sit in some spectacular basins with amazing skiing above and below. Our hut keeper, Fliss, was super awesome, helpful, and knowledgable. They don't really seem to have their heli logistics rock solid as things seemed to change literally mid air and it's quite chaotic at the staging area. Also beware, someone in our group had their truck stolen out of the staging area parking lot and multiple others had their cars broken into. The staging area attendant tried to downplay the whole thing, saying it never happens however from what we heard from other guests, it sounded like it happens all the time. There is no security at the staging area parking at all. Despite those negative experiences, I would definitely go on another trip as the adventures made at the hut were ones...
