This review for Xtreme is way overdue...

I'll keep it short and sweet.

When I was a new player a few months ago, I was overwhelmed by the rules and complexities of jumping into a game that had been building and evolving for last 30 years with an established – and very dedicated – player pool.

But David, and the community he has nurtured, went out of their way to offer their support. I was offered loaner decks when at the store so I could play and learn the mechanics, figuring out what I liked, while sampling different play styles.

Everyone I played was supportive, patient, and took the time to help me learn. So, thank you to the people I am now happy to call my friends.

I had a wonderful experience in this store. I was just passing through Grimsby and decided to pop in.

I was super pleased with the collection available and service. David, who helped me find the cards I was after, was incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely seems to love what he does.

He answered all my questions about cards and even just the MTG culture in general. It was such a refreshing experience and made me remember why I enjoyed playing MTG in the first place. Just nice conversations about the hobby.

In terms of products, he had inventory of cards that have been sold out elsewhere and the prices were great and fair. I also appreciated that he took the time to give me options and his POV on things.

This place is great.

I mostly come in for Magic and D&D, but he's also got Pokemon, board games, accessories and more available. He's even got demo versions of most board games available so you can try something out before you buy it.

When it comes to magic, the players here are friendly, and the vibe is more "friends making each other laugh" rather than "cut-throat competition", and it's that way through deliberate effort.

Most events are either free or low cost. The owner has loaner decks available for new players to learn. He'll also take the time to explain why things are how they are. The players don't take their games too seriously, and everyone's trying to help each...
