Had steak nachos, open burrito and a meat burrito.
The food was pretty fresh, promptly prepared, good portions, toppings were fresh n crisp, pricing was on par to most similar style joints, the staff was friendly and helpful.
Mexican styled meals, but a far cry from Mexican flavor as mentioned by others in the reviews, although not a bad flavor, perhaps the shared kitchen and back connection to the Indian cuisine restaurant next door being the source of the flavor.
All three meals were supposed to be with steak, l assumed a Carne Asada type meat, was not steak, was more like a pulled beef or stewed beef. Flavor was ok though, but due to the watery broth the meat was kept in, it made the chips and tortilla shell soggy and wet.
Nachos were the best of the three meals, mixed cheeses were good but couldve done without the cheese whiz type being mixed in. Otherwise good.
Burrito and open burrito was so so, tortilla shell fell apart trying to pick it up from the wet sogginess and the rice in both wasnt nice n fluffy and favored, it was all stuck together congealed from the wrong cook time.
Had positives, but unfortunately overal not a great experience. l think it has the potential to be very good with some adjustments to their flavors and pre prep. Sorry to the business for non great review but just giving honest opinion for anyone else looking to...
Read moreWas craving Mexican food and saw this place. Not my first time here, had the tacos here before. I was excited to try a quesadilla. I went for the veggie quesadilla and that was one of the worst ones I have ever had for two reasons.
They used a massive wrap that had cheese only on one side, the wrap separated and was so messy to eat. All the vegetables were falling out. The wrap pcs would not hold together even a little. A quesadilla should hold together! I could not eat it with my hand. Had to eat it with a fork like salad.
The salsa added on the sides did not taste like Mexican salsa at all. It was lacking tomato sauce. If a Mexican restaurant cannot do a good salsa then it’s not a great Mexican Restaurant.
My wife said that she could have easily made the quesadilla at home and I completely agreed with her.
Not a lot of Mexican restaurants in town so I guess I will not be eating Mexican food regularly as this place left me unsatisfied after my meal. But best of luck to the business. I hope they can make some changes...
Read moreFood was tasty, but marketing is poor. I ordered a ground beef burrito and received an Indian-Mexican fusion wrap. As others have mentioned, if you want authentic Mexican, this is not the place.
The wrap I received was not horrible, with a blend of interesting flavours, but I mistook the name and menu for authentic Mexican, hence was disappointed.
Some guidance to the shop owners: put more detail on the website menu. Itemized each ingredient so folks know what they are getting ahread of time (surprises are bad). My first impression from the website was as MORE authentic since they ingredients are not listed and the name Mexican Burritos and Tacos is very straightforward. I was wrong!
Second, replace the mini-grills with a proper grill. Without exception burritos from the George Foreman style sandwich presses have much worse texture and taste from the shell. Third, indicate the food is not authentic, but a fusion of different flavours. I'd of enjoyed the wrap more if I knew what I was getting...
