My wife found Indian Hut, mostly thinking of me for me after we did some inter-cities bicycle ride. For me, the food was delicious. I had the "lentil soup" and "Indian Eggplant". Because of my wife's delicate stomach, we asked for as little spicy as possible. As my wife responded, they cannot identify with the meaning of this. Both dishes were spicy. I love spicy and the soup was 10/10. I also loved the Indian Eggplant and my wife had to stop me from having it, since I could not stop myself. Again really good 10/10 but I had trouble tasting the eggplant because of the abundance in the spicy content. Regrettably, the salad had no dressing and there was no oil in the kitchen, is that possible?... well, no salt, no pepper and no dressing. The salad had lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes,... I ate the cucumbers, tomatoes and the red onions which my wife forgot to ask not to include them. This was a basic salad. We were also provided with Naan bread. The place was quite cold inside. Their kitchen closes at 8:45 and we beat the clock. We parked across by the large supermarket's parking lot after buying some goodies there. So, there is a good amount of food for vegetarians, a lady, perhaps an owner with great disposition and washrooms at the back. So, yes, you should visit as...
Read moreWe ordered the Hakka noodles (medium spicy), the aloo tikki chaat, and lamb korma (also medium spicy). Everything was delicious! The Hakka noodles were much spicier than the other dishes, but that makes sense because it’s in the name! The noodles were cooked perfectly and the flavour was great. Next time I think I will order them mild though, it was just a little too hot for me. The lamb korma was creamy and super tender. Seriously, like melt off the fork tender. Good amount of sauce to dip our naan and rice in. The aloo tikki chaat is definitely something I will order every time I come there. The potato patty was crispy and warm, and the sauce was cool and delicious. Definitely something to order if you don’t like your food too spicy! (Chronic mild-butter-chicken-orderers, I’m looking at you haha). But seriously, we were licking the plate. The service was great, our food came out super quick and our server was very attentive. Our bill came out to $75, which is super cheap for the amount of food we got, with rice and garlic naan and two beers! Definitely enough to last us one more meal each. Overall I am very pleased with the Indian Hut and we are adding it to our regular rotation of “I don’t wanna cook tonight, let’s eat out”...
Read moreMy wife and I have heard some good things about this restaurant so we've been very eager to give it a try. The restaurant itself is a bit bland - the atmosphere wasn't stellar, but all of the staff were extremely pleasant and they made a point of greeting us warmly... let me just say it was a very friendly vibe.
For an appetizer we had the Onion Bhaji, my wife had the Butter Chicken and I tried the Lamb Vindaloo. Along with our main we of course had rice and the garlic naan.
I like spicy and the Vindaloo didn't disappoint - large chunks of tender lamb, potatoes in a deep rich spicy curry - delicious! The naan was excellent, garlicky with a nice chew - perfect for dipping. My wife's Butter Chicken was very tasty - big chunks of chicken with a rich creamy tomato butter sauce... very yummy!
I absolutely reccomend you give this place a try - there is plenty to choose from on the menu... it doesn't matter if you like it hot and spicey or you have a more "delicate" palette... there is definitely something here you are going to enjoy.
An absolutely awesome alternative to the typical pub-grub you find in town. FOR CERTAIN WE ARE...
