so many vendors! an amazing place to shop for christmas gifts. i love this place because it really brings together everything local and so many cool artists. there’s coffee, sculptures, indian food, pierogis, breakfast foods, pastries, fresh produce, art, clothes, jewelry, soaps, mittens, candles, the list goes on! a very busy place and a wonderful atmosphere! very spacious. things here are usually pricey but for good reason. there’s also lots of tables to sit and eat your food at and chat with people around you. also a beautiful location - right on the water! and just a walk away from downtown. everyone here is so sweet and it’s impossible to not be in a good mood at the farmer’s market!

In 1848 the City of Halifax was incorporated and the original City Charter conveyed the Country Market property to the city “for the public and common benefit and use of the City of Halifax according to the true interest and meaning of the original grant.” The Market has operated in several locations across the city since its inception in 1750, but moved to the Halifax Seaport in 2010 where it is now known as the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market – the longest continuously running Market in North America and proudly hosting over 250 vendors!

Recommended place to visit in Halifax on Saturdays when the Farmer’s Market is in full swing. You’ll find plenty of local vendors with local produce, charming stalls with jewellery, cards, paintings, hand made soaps, and etc., and plenty of ethnic and non-ethnic food stalls to try. The new location at Pavilion 21 offers more social distancing and has arrows that visitors can follow for additional preventative measures. There is always a great spot just outside where you can get a wonderful view of George’s Island and the lighthouse.

This farmers market, close to where foreign cruise ships often port is quite popular even outside of the province! A hall filled with over 15+ local farmers bakers, artisans and other items are sold here, beyond just farm-fresh produce. It's a wide open space that can be quite crowded. Thankfully it wasn't as busy during the last hour that we visited. There's a lot of free sampling from the vendors, plus eating tables. I intend to visit the Seaport Farmers market again in the future!

Busy local market with foods and artisans ranging from textiles to wood and metal work. The layout is spacious so I never felt crowded though it was quite busy on a Saturday morning. There is a bank machine inside though a lot of vendors take plastic. Overall, food and goods were reasonably priced. Saturday morning is a good time to go. Great view of the harbour and Charles island from inside.

Great venue, lots of amazing vendors! An overall great experience for our family. It was great meeting local farmers and business owners. We loved the port as well and the face painting :) Food vendors were yummy and clean! We especially loved the bakery that had gluten free options :) Just wish there were more fish vendors ;). Definitely worth a visit if you are traveling to Halifax!
