Wonder'neath Art Society — Attraction in Halifax

Wonder'neath is the kind of place that can make you believe in magic. Or at least give you hope for the human race. What an amazing initiative to build community through the arts. Wonder'neath open studio makes the arts accessible to a variety of demographics that might not otherwise be able to participate. Got a project you're working on? An idea for something you'd like to make but don't know where to start? No specific ideas but always wanted to try felting or painting or embroidery or drawing? This is the place for you! If you're not sure what you'd like to do there is a featured activity every week along with the designated stations for the other media. There are facilitators on hand to assist you in your quest for creative craftsmanship. There are snacks and there's music. It's a chance to make new friends and make something cool. Wow. Fun for all ages, families, individuals, groups etc. AND...

Absolutely one of the best spaces to visit in Halifax. Wonder'neath is an open art studio, Friday and Saturday afternoon/evenings, where folks of all ages drop in to create works of art. Try your hand at felting, screen printing, sewing, knitting, painting, drawing, building... The possibilities are endless. There's also a snack corner, for when you take a break from your creation. The volunteers are amazing people, who embrace the creativity of each visitor.

This place is an absolute gem. It's a community space focused on art making and gathering. The organization partners with many other community projects. It's a model for how art is a key part of community development and investment, and a beacon for accessible, engaging programming.
