Visited the Pride of Canada carousel in Downtown Markham on the Civic holiday and the carousel was still closed due to Covid-19 pandemic. Walked around the area, lots of restaurant options for everyone. Part of Enterprise Boulevard from Andre De Grasse Street to Main Street Unionville was closed to vehicles. A sign promoting Active Markham indicates the closure lasts only on Sundays and holidays between July 1 until September 7. However, no closure will occur on August 9. The closure was great for cyclists, street walkers and runners that allows physical distancing. We walked all the way to the Markham Pan Am Center. Along the way there's not much to see as it's still empty fields with some construction in the works. Looking forward to see some more retail stores to make this more of a downtown feel as the area currently only has Golf Town, Sole Stop (for running shoes), Curry's Artists' Materials for crafter, La Différence Time Centre - an Official Rolex Retailer who also sell luxury high end watches, Stark's Barber Company, and Capsule. The Royal Bank of Canada is located there while a close walk away is a small TD Canada Trust branch. GoodLife Fitness is located inside the complex which is on the 2nd floor and beside the Cineplex & VIP movie theatre. Overall, the area is looking promising with some more construction for new development underway. Looking forward to seeing how this area will...
Read moreI would not call this a shopping mall. It's more of a restaurant courtyard. But the environment is great. New and well decorated. Great selection of food. There are some stores but they are not inside the mall. You need to go outside to find them. Most people don't venture outside to the Enterprise Blvd side and so miss most of the stores they do have. You need to cross Enterprise Blvd for more restaurants and shopping. I imagine in the future it will flesh out more. Hopefully they don't remove the parking as at peak hours it fills up to capacity. They should consider building a bridge on the second level where the theater is to the other side of Enterprise so that people can access that...
Read moreGood mall with a lot of good places to eat and drink, also a movie theatre which is nice. HOWEVER, 2 stars off simply because on the first floor, the only washroom available is a private washroom only for 1 person, this makes it extremely frustrating when needing a place to do your "business". Asked the security desk if this was the only washroom around, and he just pointed me to the washroom I've been waiting at for 25 minutes because some poor guy had some sort of stomach ache or something. Held up the entire line of people when I had to take a simple piss. This would have been a 5 star rating had I not known about this crappy...
